Anyone in NY???

A bunch of us CT peeps got together at another member's house, who "hooks us up". We did it a week or two ago already.

Just purchased 5 gallons. Takes two or so to do our trucks right

 

I don't think it would take 2 gallons. Maybe if you go on thick.
@surfandturf or @BadDNA would know.

 

I put it on thick and have done it several times over the years.

 

Oh man, I only got one gallon. I might have to look locally for another.

 

If you got one, you can try to it. Pending you're thickness preference it would work. When you take it to shop they usually put it on incredibly thin and use less than a gallon. Hence why I started doing it myself

 

Napa seems to have it near me

But I'm not doing it until I get a new frame

 

I'm definitely going to get another gallon. I'll check the local napa. Thank you, gents!

PS. Toyota won't replace my frame so I've gotta improvise

 

Im using woolwax its basically the same stuff. They say its a little thicker and less prone to wash off. I was told 6 aerosol cans would be enough for my truck. I ordered it from their website came in four days. Ill see how it works and imhow much i use

 

4-5 cans is what I buy of fluid film for my truck. I spray until I get to the point of “anything more and it’s dripping off”. Lowe’s sells fluid film cans BTW.

I sprayed my new frame last November, it was a vegetable based oil and was awesome. I did it at my friends shop and am heading north to do it again in two weeks. I don’t think there could be a wrong time to protect your truck child! I have however used fluid film to touch up the jack spots from tire changes etc. Awesome product too.

Where did you have your frame inspection? Go to Johnston’s Toyota in Middletown NY . That’s the second place I went and they failed it after another dealer wanted to just coat it .

I think I've been putting it on pretty generously and I only go through about 2 qts per truck.

 

My understanding is that Prestige tries pretty hard to find a failure spot as well....or so I've been told
