I used a posi-tap to the cargo light switch for the garage opener, and lower lights on the LED switches. Here is a thread:

I used this circuit for the opener:



The other 2 switches attach to the each Rigid harness (3 wires). You are left with Red 2 on each switch. So the Red 2's from the LEDs, and both Reds from the opener attach to the ILL+ on the cargo switch. The black ground from there opener attaches to the ILL- on the cargo switch. The top and bottom light on the opener work with the truck lights. The wording on the LED switches works the same way, but the truck icon only lights with the LEDs are turned on.

I use a fuse panel in the engine bay to power the LEDs.

You are pulling 2 3-wire LED lights circuits through the firewall. The lights are dimmable, but still brighter than the factory illumination. Make for a fairly clean install.

Bought my taco 2 weeks ago working on making everything black, front taillights to headlight not done yet. After that tires and lift.

Edit: I guess others were thinking the same thing.

 

The switch wasn't, they work fine. It's just the led light in the switch, I am keeping one wire in attached because if I attach it the "on" backlight is ALWAYS on. In theory after playing with wiring inline switches I should be able to figure it out. But yeah been running it without the backlight ever because I don't want a dead truck battery..
