Anything is possible and I believe somebody has installed a fan in a fully built drifter. The benefit of having vagabond do it is they do put aluminum framing around the opening to reinforce it. I'm not sure how critical that additional framing is but it is something to consider.

I’d Like to mention that the aluminum framing that is part of the “Fan Package” is a huge bonus for those that like to party on their rooftops... the extra bracing goes a long way when my fat ass is crawling around up there strapping down a canoe or other crap.

Can you post some photos of your ceiling from the inside and outside?

It’s just a white sheet of e-panel on the inside and bare aluminum on the outside. Nothing spectacular. I am pretty sure an inside look is found on my youtube video. I’ll try and get a pic of the outside.

On the subject of awnings, @Overlanerd has Front Runner awnings on the side and rear and I have a Shadow Awn on mine. Really different strokes and based on your needs. There is no single perfect awning. The Shadow Awn is great because it's quick to setup, covers a lot of ground and has no standing legs. However it's tougher to deploy in dense areas or parking lots like ski resorts etc. The other awnings take little more time to setup, but you can choose which ones you want to extend, and you have more options for side rooms and bug screens.

The fan can be added later, but we add a cross bar and conceal the wiring for it in the ceiling, and it would a whole lot of work. Ceiling lights and fan are two things we recommend you add from the get go if you want them.

Thanks, all. This is great info. I was hoping to be able to keep from having a vertical wire hanging down from the track to the bed of the truck where the Propex will be. It sounds like it will be better to use the Propex wiring rather than trying to create my own.

Anyone break their front window yet?
I have a spare slider (not drop down) that I just removed from my Drifter.

I did put a fan in thanks to the help of @tyfoon11
It was scary cutting a giant hole in the roof but it was so worth it. It’s something i wish i had ordered originally and finally added it more than a year later. Would be nice to have the extra bracing that they put in when they build the roof during production, but no issues so far.
I did have the ceiling prewired for power when built so the wiring was already hidden and available.

The fan is a game changer!

Did you get the new window through Vagabond or were you able to source directly?
