Yes, same here and that external happiness is fleeting. It causes some people stress over things like gas prices, registration prices, scratches, and there will be a day when you (and I) can’t get rid of the damn Tacoma fast enough.

I've never understood the love for that or the obsession, but if that's what's most important to you in life, I guess you're in the right state.

Yep. I never understood why people seem to be grumpy that I love where I live.

    Apparently 5$/ Gallon.

Or 95c / Liter. It's about 60$ to fill my truck, thats a decent dinner for 2 with no booze up in igloo land. (Calgary AB)

I like visiting California, but wouldn't want to live there due to the type of people running the state.

Live in Utah for a bit and you’ll see. Here’s a list of a few things.

    1. In Utah to get something other than 4% beer you have to go to a special government store. There aren’t a lot of them so be be prepared to wait in line. Oh want that beer on a Sunday? Nope - they closed
    2. Legal weed. I don’t smoke it but nice to know I could if I wanted to
    3. Beer fests. Utah you pay to get in and then pay full price for different beers. Here you pay to get in and it’s free the rest of the time
    4. They have to posts signs on businesses they explain if it’s a bar or a restaurant...because people are too stupid to figure that out on their own
    5. More stupid liquor laws that affect things like Dave and busters opening. Something about you can’t have beer and that type of game in the same place/same time. Because kids will become alcoholics
    6. The zion curtain...
    7. The church pretty much decides votes for the followers
    8. Drivers are way worse than California drivers
    9. The people. I could start a-whole-nother post about that

Sure California has some really stupid laws. Maybe I haven’t lived here long enough to experience them, but none of them have affected me negatively yet. :notsure:

Born and raised Wisconsinite here - southern part of the state is usually around $2.50/gal, rural usually beats major cities. Winter blend fuel goes down to low $2.00 or sometimes below, but mileage also drops a bit.

I've traveled most of the country (in Louisiana currently) and there are few places I'd rather live than "up north." Plus, there are at least a few cool Toyota folks around...

Same reason why millions upon millions of people vote every year...because it matters who make decisions in office!!

Again, I have lots of respect for your ability to be seemingly care-free about some things, but that just doesn't work for the vast majority of people in this world.

I live in a state where ONE single county dominates most political decisions across the entire state. And it is pretty crappy when that one county likes to pass all kinds of measures and taxes on everyone, mostly to fund their own programs and improvements.

That's why most people care who runs their state! Or nation for that matter...
