Just the new toy I installed on the truck. It’s a flasher controller used on cop motorcycles but I made my own program for the Tacoma.

Any of us can talk you through it. You can do it for sure. Lights, few wires, relay, and switch. Easier than it appears.

Does it have to be dry to harvest? Can you explain the logic of that best practice?

Edit - ok, I was just looking at the Alarm Disarm video, then I saw the two vids you posted that Shawn quoted. No longer confused!

That's pretty bad ass. So first, where do you work that you do light installs on po po bikes? Second, so the same controller was used with your custom switch panel to operate all independently or all together? That's pretty bad ass.

Also who's rear bumper is that?

I work for Whelen Engineering. They pretty much dominate the market when it comes to emergency lighting and sirens. I won’t get all kool-aid on here, but if you are curious feel free to do your own market research. I just leveraged one of our modules in a completely different domain.

    https://youtu.be/l4voXGz7sgk

I have the peasant controller in the Tacoma. Wait till I post videos of my Explorer. There’s over $25,000 in lights and sirens going in that thing.

The controller is fairly simple. It had 8 input triggers and 8 outputs. So any switch can be used to control the inputs. I added some virtual inputs for timers and was creative with external relays and diodes to add extra functionality like you saw with the alarm disarm as a trigger.

Your on TW! This is the mecca of how to threads for our trucks. Like this one:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-wiring-after-market-lights.6525/

You dont have to do the add-a-fuse, but if you are worried you would leave them on and kill your battery it is a good thing to do or of you have an illuminated switch (only want it illuminated when your truck is on).

I bet they have a TW meet or mod day near you sometimes?
