Also, do they still have that weird faction week or whatever it was? I hate that you can't do Faction stuff whenever you want.. I want some Dead Orbit shit, man.

 

Yeah, IB is still around. Don't know when the next time it's going to show up this season? I'm kind of curious since level advantages are enabled for IB but theoretically there is no level cap since the Artifact is in use? So I'm not sure what they will do there? But it is very possible to get well above 1000 power level. I assume they will cap IB at the 960 hard cap?

Fucking faction rallies. One of the stupidest things they put in the game. Why not just have it like they did in D1 with rotating stock each week? I didn't give a shit (and still don't) about faction rallies.

 

Bungie taking Trials out of the game was another reason I quit last year.

 

I bought the deluxe edition at D2 launch and wasn't super thrilled with the game. Once that ran out and I had to buy the next expansion (Forsaken) I gave it up and left. Don't know what made me want to come back but I re-downloaded the game on Friday and ended up buying what I was missing so now I'm hooked again. I missed a lot and there's so much that's changed that I am clueless about.

I didn't know that there isn't a light cap. Figured it was somewhere in the 900s since it slowed down so much...

As far as factions, I think the rally things kinda killed em. I used to love doing bounties to rep Dead Orbit and to see which new weapons/shaders/ships Arach Jalaal had in stock each week.

 

Exactly... I don't know why they did away with factions? Stupid fucking decision.

I suffered through the first year of D2. Then Forsaken came out and it was amazing. I mean TTK amazing. If you left the game when Forsaken came out you missed one of the best expansions that Bungie has put out. But after three months they completely dropped it and went for these little mini expansions and they sucked balls. The Black Armory was it for me. I gave up after that. I was (and maybe still am) so sick of the ups and downs of Destiny. I quit, talked a fuck ton of shit about the game, and never planned on returning. The shit I talked about the game was completely justified and it remains to be seen if it is still justified. Shadowkeep is a make or break deal for Bungie. Right now it's doing well and I'm not ashamed to say that I'm enjoying it. As long as they continue down this path, they might actually be able to pull this off. But if they fuck up and start releasing these bullshit mini expansions again... It's over. We'll see what they have in store.

I wished nothing but hate and hoped Bungie would completely fail last year after they pulled what they pulled. But, now that my clan talked me into giving it one more try, I've got to say that I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. Here's to hoping they continue the trend. They had nowhere else to go but up.

 

I heard that Forsaken was good but after being let down with Tom Clancy's The Division and Destiny 2 I was over spending money on games for them to turn out being shit. I haven't quite figured out the Black Armory thing. I have a couple quests from them but haven't figured it out. I just played the Managerie thing for the first time yesterday. I have yet to do any of the raids (dungeon?) after the Leviathan. I also have some issue where my Triumphs don't show the Warmind campaign as complete, says I'm missing the last two missions, even though I did them and they don't show up on the Director so that's a bit annoying. I'm just hoping I'll keep playing and I'll end up playing something that I missed that will trigger the completion or something.

@RearViewMirror told me in our other thread that they had the new expansion and that he was playing again, I think the day he started. I was all "holy shit, your playing again? can't be that bad" (just go back and look at his 10 page rants about the game last year and you'll understand my surprise.
Went home and downloaded that night, got to 900 on sunday afternoon and been grinding since then. Pretty much hooked back on it now because I took a year off and basically forgot how to play the game. Its all coming back now but at first I was a complete blueberry. Couldnt even stay on the scooter with out accidentally jumping off. Like riding a bike though.
Glad they straightened it out. Hope they got there shit together finally. Hands down one of my favorite games as long as they stay on this track. I'm not as in tune with it as Rearview since I'm not retired yet, so it will hold more fun longer for me.

Ah, I'm a PC guy. Have it on Xbox as well but I haven't played it on there since the PC release.

Definitely back into the swing of it, I just have to figure out what content I'm missing and figure out the new raids and game modes that I haven't experienced yet. When I played managerie the other day, I had no idea it was going to be that long/complex. Was a fun mode though, for sure.

 

I've got it cross saved on Steam but the only computers I have in the house are Macs.... so there's that.

 

For some reason after Forsaken they thought just rehashing different horde modes would be cool. Basically public events became escalation protocols became forges. All conceptually the same. I always wondered why they didn't utilize some of the D1 assets to bring forward into D2. Apparently they have been working on that now that the moon is back. Now they just need to bring back Venus and VoG!

I guess now that I am over 900 I need to go back in and actually run through the story. Maybe first get my hunter up and just maybe my Titan -- I never even ran the Titan on Forsaken.

 

Run the story with me, I only have a couple of the start of it done. We are basically the same light level, I'm at 904 or 906 and you're at 902, so we should be able to run it together no problem.

 

It's more funs that way anyhow. I'll be on tonight about 4am New Delhi, India time.

So to complete the Nightmare bounty to get your high level drop this week you will have to melee high level enemies in the Nightmare hunts to get the fragments that you need during the Nightmare quests. Once you finish it you will get a cut seen that will show one of her Guardians that perished during her expedition into the Hellmouth.
