Haha, maybe? I keep forgetting to check the race schedule, Ill be racing a lot next year. I plan on racing in 4 series and see if I can win some championships, figure the more series I race, the better chance I have at winning one, lol. Or breaking myself in half in a big crash is always possible as well since it will be on dirtbikes.
That being said I think it would be a fun time! Been a while since I've been able to get out and play...

    Shocking!!! :bananadead: Haha...

Yep Chevy trucks have this too, and the the shoe is 1 piece, talk about a pain in the ass..

Couldn't you guys just have swapped the yoke instead of the entire 3rd member??

You can get that without disconnecting the UCA too, It's just pretty tight to get in there..

Thats why you are supposed to use the 10 and not the 11, they look very similar :p.
Iv'e always either been able to remove it or break something with a good flare wrench.
Speaking of, I gotta do an Archive relocation today so I'll be using a flare wrench too..

No I meant off the new axle...duh. Didnt you say you had to swap 3rds as well since the yoke was different on the replacement axle or was I speed-reading too fast?

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
edit/missed the multi quote. TW needs to get on the current version of this forum software. IFS knows what's up.

if you are going to buy a nice set... DO NOT GET S&K anything anymore. their quality control is garbage. I went through 3x sets with them to get one that wasn't badly chromed and/or rusting. made in the usa doesn't mean shit.

Probably with your skillset haha. Or my terminology is wrong. It's the yoke/flange* whatever the piece on the end of the 3rd member is that connects to the driveshaft.
The nut is punched to lock the bitch in place and never get loose. We already had the axles out, so the 3rd was a simple swap over versus fucking with the yoke nut for who knows how long haha.

You don't own a socket for your CV axles? I know mike does.

Did you try an impact? Should have done the trick.

I would say swapping thirds was the way to go. It lets you inspect the gears, you know the mileage of your 3rd member and it makes sure you have the same gear ratio as your front.
It would suck to put the new third in and it end up being a different gear ratio and now having to do the third member swap again.

    I was fuckin' dead.

Yes, we picked one up. Not sure about the effectiveness of the cheapie.

We had some. It wasn't used as much as it should have been.
