Only axles that should ever go into your Tacoma are oem-new or oem-reman. Parts store cheap shiz if you're on a bind or to keep you moving on a trial or something, never intentionally at home are you allowed to install the cheap crap quality Chinese one

I wouldn't cheap out on anything in general if I don't have to; I just have a lot more to do on the truck yet I'm going to be saddling up and moving in a month or two.

True, you don't strike me as the type to do something in a cheap way. Oh man you're moving before the 4x4 swap or after?

Lol, no biggie right? As long as you keep your expectations in line with what you do or use, who even really cares? :D besides the rescue team in Moab that's tired of helping swap out busted Chinese cv axles:rofl:

You've survived and you don't have unrealistic expectations of it. I say that stuff more to just hope people really think and consider all options or whatever. Man I've wasted lots of time and money, well guess not a waste cause we've learned tons but yeah

yeah at this point I just don't want to touch a CV axle again for at least a few weeks lol. After the fiasco last night I just threw a cheap one on and called it a day...for the 3rd time in 3 weeks.

Funny thing is, when I got my wheel bearing and CV axle replaced on the passenger side last year, the shop put an FEQ brand CV axle in. I'm not sure who makes them but they're like $140 online. That axle has lasted me over a year now and some really tough trails. I might consider picking up another one of those now that I think about it. If I can't find any ADD Toyota remans that is

Moving soon, then 4x4 swap completion sometime next year!

My biggest issue is, not having a garage where I live now. I plan on getting a place with a garage, without spending too much more.

Used to own an RX7; the rotary club is full of elitists and if you didn't use the best, that's made out of better than the best, then it wasn't worth going on your car. Huge money pit it was...

That's the one you're going to sell me o_O

By the way, meeting up with Sergio this Wednesday 16th.

On the Moab run, Ryan is going to be the dedicated axle replacement guy.

    He's earned the title :stirthepot:

Yeah for sure, you've tried and used a few different ones. You wheel pretty good on em. You're unbiased, unlike me:D(I admit my pro-Toyota bias shows at times) and your input is valued. Not a whole lot of folks have been through as many axles as you. I think it's smart that you're leaving that as the weak link to break if needed because it'd be a nightmare on the trail to break an inner axle or something in diff.

That's one brand but many of the brands use the same cheap axle from a factory in china

A1 is one of the biggest rebuilers of car parts. Thats why I mentioned them.

lol I thought you meant tomorrow at first, was like how and the hell is it the 16th already

So I'm going to call up Long Beach Toyota and ask if they actually have an ADD reman and if they can send it to me with a return label for the manual hub one, but if they don't have any (probably not since they sent me the wrong one) then I'll hold on to it for when you come down

Unfortunately the $121 is after you return the core of your original axle, so it's more like $200 when you order one of those online...I'll have to look up my receipt but it was around there. I think it was $118 after (or if) you send back a core

But yeah still way cheaper than a brand new OEM
