Your radar sits behind the logo, if you change your grill to a pro, your radar sits behind that garnish piece on the lower center part of the grill

AJ, I thought you did fine. Unfortunately for some, comprehension is impossible when you have the attention span of a goldfish.

A lot of people have problems after the TSS calibration even with the OEM garnish.

What is a lot? I’m more likely to have issues than not? Are these issues easily resolved?

Nice looking and unique but I take it there is no TSS correct? I don’t see a garnish.

I researched the hell out of this before pulling the trigger on the pro grill. Seems to me 99.99% of the problems stem from aftermarket garnishes. YMMV...

Correct. My truck is a '17, so I don't have to worry about that. I believe he updated the look for newer models to include some sort of garnish for the TSS, but not sure how that works.

I definitely don't have any numbers.

Not able to be resolved, according to the tech at the dealer that does my service.

Apparently the recall tightened up the tolerances significantly, so changing the grill or lifting may cause issues. Anything that changes the geometry.

Mine works but will eventually throw an error within an hour of driving. Can only be reset by switching the engine off.

There's a thread about TRD Pro grill swaps and most of the discussion revolved around problems after the TSS recall at the time I was reading it.

Yes I looked at those but as I said the reports on the TSS being 100% reliable were not guaranteed so I decided to go with the sure thing. AJ’s grill came with an OEM garnish installed at a very reasonable price so that’s what I did. I’ve been very happy with the results.

Would I have liked a different, more unique grill? Sure, but what I really wanted more than anything is a good looking 100% reliable one. That’s what I got. The fact that a lot of people have the same grill doesn’t make it any less good looking. AAMOF, it’s a testament to just how good it looks.

Again, your mileage may vary but that’s not what I found while researching the issue. The vast number of problems seemed to me to stem from folks with aftermarket garnishes.

Repositioning the TSS even on a lifted vehicle didn’t seem to cause any issues at all and if they did it was simple matter of letting the system recalibrate itself. Maybe I was just lucky but mine didn’t even do that. It’s been working perfectly from the get-go - and my truck has a three inch lift and oversized tires.

TRD Pro grill is ugly, no one should replace their OEM grill with that garbage.
