Ok quick question, the instructions say that the ball joint must be at 150ft-lbs. but what about the long bolt that goes trough the UCA? Doesn’t say anything in the instructions... so I’d guess 100ft-lbs?

The long bolt is stock so torque is 85 ft lbs or 115nm

Removing that dam bolt is impossible. I’ve bent the metal to hell and still won’t come out :annoyed:

Lol... I did that this weekend on a buddies truck. Pain in the ass but get yourself some huge channel locks and it’s easy. Also remove the ac line out of the way on the passenger side and remove the wire loom in the driver side

bent the living hell out of it and nothing. So I got a long, skinny screw driver and hammer the sh*t out of it until the bolt came out.

did you put it back in the way it came out? I’m tempted to put it in backward. It’ll be way easier lol.

Yeah easier to get it back in. I say do it the right way or don’t do it at all. If you put it backwards and it comes loose and falls out that’s going to be bad...

Did mine a couple weekends ago and it was by far the most frustrating part of the whole deal. Everyone tells you to "bend the frame" but when I crawled under my hood the bolt was hitting on a rounded portion that wasn't easy to bend. Also had to remove a wire loom on the driver side. Wish I would have talked to you sooner -- a good tip is to not remove the bolt all the way. Just push it out until the control arm comes loose and leave that bolt wedged against the frame. Do that on the other side I guess. To get it back in you might find some luck with a long punch and a hammer from inside your engine bay. You'll get it done

So this is how I got it back in. Used a vice grip to hold the bolt, and a breaker bar against it. Went it pretty easily but scuffed up the bolt. At this point, I don’t care.. Credit goes to the beer helping me think of abstract ways to do this lol.

Plenty of guys here who put it in the other way, no issues from it.

Or you could remove all of the body to frame bolts and gently jack the body up off the frame a bit. That plus a little movement of the body to the side and I was able to get the bolts in and out without any hammers, punches, bending of pinch welds, etc.
