I've got AAA, if the truck isn't driveable...I'm not making it driveable on the side of the road, I'll have it towed home.

 

so...once? and it was at a special time with the boat...not on your regular ol' trip to walmart...

 

I'm not one to put my trust 100% in to anyone but myself, so I stay prepared to take care of myself.

You seem comfortable with that since you didn't even have a spare on our first bike ride together.

 

lol I didn't have time to get another spare! I told you I didn't have one beforehand...

I'm plenty prepared to take care of myself. I can change a tire, swap battery out, or an alternator, or similar with what I have. I'm also prepared with a towing service.

Just because I don't have a garage worth of tools in my truck, doesn't mean I can't take care of myself.

 

my garage is like 10 feet from where I park.

the times I drive the truck that I'm not wheeling, I don't need the tools from my garage. literally can't think of a single time I've had an issue with the truck and not been able to handle it with the minimal tools I've got.

 

Didn't say you were unprepared with a towing service, just not prepared to take care of yourself without any outside help. That's my whole point, being self sufficient. Having services at your disposal is great and can be a tool (I've needed a tow before), but being as self sufficient as possible is what I aim for.

 

like I said, I take a breaker bar when I go wheeling, but it doesn't just sit in the truck.

 

so, you're saying you can always bypass having to use a towing service with the tools you carry in your truck?

 

and thats all good and fine, but does that mean you have to throw shots at me because I don't do the same? lol.

Not always, but I have better chance of bypassing it with what I have than if I didn't carry them. I like being as prepared as I can be. You can come up with all sorts of scenarios where a tow truck is necessary and I would agree with you that it is in catastrophic situations but I'll take my fighting chance and keep my tools with me in the event I can get myself out of a situation myself.

 

it was more of a generic "you" "y'all" meaning you/Wes/Trey. couldn't be content that I don't keep a bunch of once in a million tools in my truck lol.

I don't care what you carry or don't carry. We're having what's called a conversation where we all share experiences. Mine dictate that having more tools than necessary when daily driving is a good idea. Yours sound like they don't. That's fine. At the end of the day no one cares.

 

I just didn’t want to load tools in my truck every time I went somewhere that I thought I would need them. So I bought a second set of the essentials to keep in the truck.

bigger deep wall sockets and wrenches, breaker bar and a few other things.

 

I did realize that needle nose pliers were something that I didn’t have in my truck tool bag when I needed them for my bike once.

Forced me to have to convert my bike to a single speed for the remainder of a ride......that sucked.

 

I'm gonna keep my old pedals in my MTB tool box, can't wait to use those on the truck when I go to Sam's club later.

 

This thread sucks. I’m making another MTB thread.


Not really, because that would suck too like all the AL threads.

 

I'm just glad to see people watching this thread and being butthurt that I'm only in my biking thread and not coming back to the Alabama thread.
