I kinda giggled when they illuminated the road sign up on the bridge. That sign is a long way away. Everyone on the bridge must of been like WTF?

@Baja Designs , So I am wanting to order and use the S2 Pro driving/combo lights as ditch lights mounted next to the hood and windshield. This is going on a 3rd gen Tacoma. My question is the included wiring harness would need to be extended to reach into the cabin driver side cubby switch area correct? This is where I would like the switch to turn off and on the S2 Pros.

do you guys sell the extended harness for this mounting option?

I have searched and watched videos on guys doing this but no one is really clear on how exactly this is extended to done. They just say extend the wires by splicing and re-connecting.

It's probably long enough. You just need to get the switch connectors through the firewall. It's a lot easier to cut the wires, send it through and reconnect them.

thanks Rome604...that makes sense regarding the switch connector wires.

What worries me is the length of each wire coming from each of the S2 lights. If I mounted them on ditch light brackets and then run the wires along the firewall and into the cabin. This is where some splicing and re-connecting may have to occur.

I've got S2s on my ditch light brackets right now. The wires come from the S2s down under the hood into the engine compartment. There they use the weatherpack connectors to connect to the wiring harness that goes to the battery and through the firewall to the switch. It's pretty much plug and play with the exception of figuring out where to mount the switch and get those wires through the firewall.

    Awesome...thanks Rome604.

So the included harness with the S2 Pro package is long enough i assume.

I wonder why some youtube videos showed it being short and then them having to extend the wires. Strange.

So I had an Baja Designs epiphany last night. @Baja Designs you can correct me if I'm wrong here.

I've taken apart a lot of BD lights and I like to reverse engineer stuff. Though I'll admit, I could have easily gotten this wrong. Baja Designs pretty much has 3 different LEDs in their lights. A 6W, a 12W and a 20W. They then have two size reflectors (small and large). So it pretty much breaks down like this.

    S1
    1X 20W and Large reflector

    S2 Sport
    2x 6W and small reflectors

    S2 Pro
    2X 12W and small reflectors

    Squadron Sport
    4X 6W and small reflectors

    Squadron Pro
    4X 12W and small reflectors

    XL Sports
    4X 6W and Large reflectors

    XL Pro
    4X 12W and Large reflectors

    XL80s
    4X 20W and Large reflectors

    S8 per 10"
2X-12W and 6X-6W and small reflectors

    OnX6+
4X-20W and 2X-12W and Large reflectors

As you can see from the list, even the more budget friendly lights out perform most of the other LED companies. Most other LED companies will list a 5W CREE LED as used in their build. Even these 5W LEDs aren't running at 100% either. If you've never seen the 20W BD LED...it is massive.

Just thought this was cool and worth sharing.

Probably depends on the switch placement in the cab. If you put it in the center console you'll need to extend the wires. Luckily it is very easy to crimp or solder in some extensions.

There's three wires going to the switch. Get three equivalent gauge wires the length of the extension. Cut the switch off. Crimp or solder the extension onto the harness. Feed the extension through the firewall. Crimp or solder the extension back onto the switch.

It was a tight fit! Since I used security hardware I had to get creative on the order I installed the bracket. Thanks again for the light bar!

It looks great. Sorry to have fed your addiction tho. Guessing I'd be just as guilty in the intervention video.
