You’re going to be happy! I ran them on my JK and JKU in 35’s and also on my F150 in 285/75’s and loved them. Only reason not on this Tacoma is I wanted the tallest tire i could get without cutting and that was the Toyo’s which are just shy of 3/4 inch taller. That said there is a very good chance I will run the coopers next set on the Tacoma

    Yeah.
No personal experience with one, but have done plenty of research and consideration in the past with my 2nd gens. I'd say the most economical and best performing lift for the money is an OME setup with Dakars on the back. You could just go add-a-leaf to save some money, but I would spring for the full leaf pack since it isn't that much more. You likely don't have to replace the UCA's with the OME. Should last and perform well.

The dakar leaf pack is good. In my experience OME front stuff rode like poop, always topping out and clunking. There are detailed threads about this. I ran the 884 on a reg cab with a steel bumper and sliders, so they were the short coils and still not great. I like my Eibach setup for the front better. The OME rear shocks are also too short, not the best choice imo. My next somewhat reasonably priced fronts will be Fox 2.0 again. much nicer than OME and my current stuff.

All I can say is they're not a winter snow rated tire and you can tell the difference if you have experience with real winter tires, better than my Toyo's though and much better than the stock tires for all winter conditions and wet rainy conditions.

Are you referringto OME coils with 5100's up front? I was looking at doing the 887 or 888 (anticipating a winch) and the AAL or full pack with 5100 in the rear as well.

I have 5100s at 1.75" in front, and 1" of rear lift on my 07, and I'm planning on upgrading to 305/70R16s soon. They're a 33x12.2, so about an inch wider than a 285 but the same height. I plan on needing an aggressive CMC and an alignment with a lot of extra caster to push the tires forward. The -12 offset wheels don't help either. Make sure you take into account the offset of your wheels if you have aftermarket ones.

I have the 4runner TRD Pro wheels which I don't believe I will have any major issues. Do you like the 5100 setup? The other option I have looked into is the 6112/5160.

I ran the OME coils on OME shocks up front, this was around 2011-2013. It is possible that using the 5100’s the shocks wont be clunking and topping out all the time. As an example even going over speed bump in a parking lot was clunky and rough, so you can image what trails were like.

I'd say if you're willing to spend a bit more money I'd go for the 6112 and 5160s with either a progressive 3 leaf AAL or an entire new leaf pack like Dakars. I only did the 5100s because they were cheap and I could install them and the rear lift (block) by myself. I had 5100s on my Tundra too and functionally they're perfectly fine, it's just down to the ride quality you want. If you do get an add a leaf or new leaf pack make sure you aren't maxing out the travel of your stock brake lines. Some people need longer lines after lifting.

With not doing a ton of crawling, I have been tempted to go the 5100 route. As my daily, I am far more concerned with on-road performance.

Have a look at the Eibach setup, might meet your needs and is cost somewhat effective.

I'm happy with the on-road ride, I like a stiffer suspension so it's pretty much exactly what I wanted in that respect. No more bouncing or swaying.
