    Good morning Mat @OVTune

Auto blipper or not , how's the next M/T 2.0 beta coming? More ECU's this time?

It looks like the slushbox guys MAY have finally, FINALLY been placated...

    Time to :burnrubber:

JK on the auto blipper, that's a very old joke.

I've been working with someone on here and we are testing some patch stuff for the MT. When it's ready there will be a new patched release for the MT.

I share the same concern regarding longevity and reliability with the tune as another member. Looking for some re-assurance. Not doubting the product or OVtune at all. Just want to see some higher mileage users share their insight.

I wish I did an oil analysis before the tune to see if there were any differences in wear... I guess I could still do this given that the lab already has baselines.

So with that said, I have about 1500 miles or so on the tune already. It's fantastic and I wouldn't look back. However, it's also got me thinking as the engine does sound a little more "aggressive" especially at highway speeds where it was quieter. Not a problem, just something I noticed. Also my MPG did suffer slightly, but that's probably due to winter gas.

That PDF states 91 octane or higher, I thought it was 87 or higher and 91 or higher for towing/etc.

One other thing I noticed is soot on my tail pipe.

As mentioned the only tune I was questioning was the FOB and that because of the very high static CR. 11.8:1! AND I was not worried about off idle. Just idle and possible lower end bearing exposure to harm at idle with no "Atkinson" ie without relatively early exhaust valve opening. While I did not receive a direct answer the implication is a portion of this Atkinson cycle remains.

I have been tuned for over 65,000 miles and haven’t had any issues. Truck definitely runs better than it ever did on the stock tune

Oh and the fuel part was answered. That is straight up RON. We speak R+M/2 (AKI) in the USA.

One could easily argue the factory tune is concerning for the long term reliability of the truck.

If you knew how they ran their software groups in car companies, you'd be begging for aftermarket solution.

But then, you've driven your truck so that should give an idea.

If FOB is no Atkinson mode. How does fuel economy compare to a flash with Atkinson?

So is it even worth having Atkinson then?

I haven't got the tune yet unfortunately don't have a spare $700 haha. Just trying to learn about it

The only place Atkinsonesque VVT exists is at very low load and very low rpm. An area that's nearly impossible to drive except going downhill

*** on the AT...maybe you MT guys have better use of 1200 to 1400 rpm ***

Just sayni', but OVT accepts PayPal. With PayPal Credit, you can get 6mo free financing, which is what I did. ;)

Where @OVTune left it in FOB, it was really sweet.
Yes. I do. Around town, I am between 1,100 and 2k when holding speed and climbing gentle grades. Basically, I'm in 5th or 6th at around 35, but will drop to 3rd or 2nd if I need to get moving from there. I just like to row.

That low down torque is just killer.
