Definitely. I am extremely happy with what I do for work compared to some of my close friends in other types of work.

I can answers any questions you may have to the best of my ability.

Truth! Sometimes I wonder if she dislikes all of use and the favorite thing is just a cover story.

Definitely. I have B.S., and didn't go on to a masters/PhD. I have known people that did and while they were studying whatever (very focused) I was gaining a wealth of work experience. I work with a phD now, and she does not have seniority over me or make more than me (I make a tad bit more than her).

What sets you aside from others is what you did or are doing in addition to the schooling. What skillsets you have. Meaning I went to school with a guy who got a 4.0 and stressed over chemistry and physics tests. I passed those classes barely and instead of always studying topics I would never use I went and gained experience with researchers and so on. We graduated, me with a lowish grade average and him with a 4.0. Three years later he was working at target and I was employed doing what I wanted to do. He had a degree, but nothing else. Meaning my GPA doesn't mean shit now. The degree is checking a box, in my opinion it is everything else that sets you aside from others with the same degree. I also would be nowhere with out my network. Almost every job I got was through it. All the outside things I did, is also where I gained my network. So a win-win there.

    I am definitely gainfully employed.

My core or my beginning started with wildlife, specifically birds, reptiles, and amphibians. I put in alot of time over the years mastering identification of species in my state and learning about their behavior, habitat requirements, etc. I got hired because I was qualified to conduct surveys. From there I started really focusing of special-status species (fed/state endangered species and other statutes) because this is where a lot of the work and money is. Then on the job I learned about regulatory compliance, permitting, other biological resources like wetlands and waters of the US, and so on and so on.

Young little striped racer. Real fast and whippy typically. I have been bit by snakes countless times (use to work at a large-scale reptile breeder/dealers, thousands of individuals from small to huge snakes/lizards), but a "cousin" of that species is the only one to ever successfully bite me in the face.

I don’t think I knew this about you. My dad was a wildlife resource officer for 35 years before he was forced to retire because of age. He enforced all the hunting/Fishing and boating laws in TN.

I have owned pythons, garter snakes, king snakes, rat snakes and a couple gopher snakes over the years. I currently do not own any, just fish them out of this one particular fountain. This is the 3rd snake. First one I didn't know what it was, had to look it up (rare for me). Until I found it, it was considered dangerous AF! with its color markings. It was all black with a bright red/orange belly and a red ring on the neck.
2nd was either a gopher or a baby rattler... was really hard to distinguish. Number 3 was that little fella.

    Right on.

I like ringneck species, so small. For Cali, the only concern is rattlers so colors dont mean anything to us. Rattler Vs. Gophers - best ID despite age is head shape. Rattlers like all vipers have those pronounced triangle heads where the jaw and base of head is wider than the body. Like a triangle at the end of the skinnier body. Gophers heads are not pronounced and are the same size as the body.

I use to work for a rattlesnake removal company, gophers regularly get confused with rattlers. Money is money though.

Yeah, that where it was still difficult to tell it sorta had the viper head shape, but kinda didn't. I didn't take and chances picking him up. Netted him and dumped him on the deck. Took a couple of pics (I'll see if I can find it) and scooted him off to the bushes.

Get your Masters Degree. It makes you a more capable person. And more employable.

In most cases, yes. But it is, in my opinion, among the best investments you can make.

Most likely a gopher, but his head looked to triangle for my liking.
