The Katy Tigers will lay the wood on most football teams in this state, and have for as long as I've been following them, 27 years.

 

My last two roommates went to Katy. Said it was crazy. Teachers bribing high school kids to play for em and shit

 

That's always been a rumor. It's also a school that in 1998 self forfeited a chance to play for the state championship, literally pulling the team off the bus the morning of the game, after it was learned that a 3rd string tight end had forged his parent's signature to get around the no pass/no play rule. He had gotten into the late stages of a blowout, the first time he had played all year, and one of his teachers sitting in the stands saw him playing and brought it up to the administration. People like to talk about winning programs, but Katy is a throwback to parents supporting their kids. Kinda like Westlake/Lake Travis/Vandegrift here, but without parents you would like to punch in the mouth.

I didn’t know you lived around that area. I was born and raised in Houston. Used to play football games in HS just down the road from Gunspoint Mall.
