I didn’t mind the “classic” noctua color scheme but I like the black and orange of the LTT Edition noctuas, I may pick one up for the Ryzen build assuming they’re available.

I definitely dont fit the mold. Not a single one of my PC's are really visible. So i could care less how components look. I looked more for performance. Ive had Scythe fans for a long time now. Great for quietness and performance and cost. The couple Noctua fans i have work awesome too though!

It's not an either or arguement. I used to be like you, just get a good sturdy case with good cable management and screw worrying about how anything looks inside beyond being good for cooling and accessibility. Now though, pretty much every top end board and graphic card begs to have a windowed case. For me, I stopped using Noctia and went to the lower board stress and arguably cleaner AIOs a couple of years ago. The looks in the case were just a side benefit for me.

Also Noctua has lost most of their lead. I remember maybe two decades ago when Noctuas twin tower cooler launched and it could hold temps almost double digits lower than the next best cooler. Now though, a high end AIO can basically match a D15 and a mid can match the U14. Then there is Be Quiet with their coolers that can go round for round with Noctua at similar noise levels. Without the performance lead I wouldn't look at going back without a Blacked Out version.

O totally! My "gaming pc" has a windowed case.....an old ass Antec 900. The RGB kills it....a nice red RBG and then a (generally) blue glow from the graphics card lol. But its at my feet and never seen except when walking in the room. Every other pc.....i never even see until something happens (power outage, changing a hard drive, ect)

I only use Noctua in odd sized fans (40mm being on). Otherwise I was all about quietness and scythe fans kicked ass at that when i bought them.

As for the Antec 900........it sucks not having USB3 on the front lol

mind you im also running a i5-4970K, DDR3 ram, and a MSI gaming-5 mobo (97? series)

That Phenom II would be about that age lol. I usually build from scratch every 2-3 years, sometimes faster or slower. Then I pass off the older hardware to my family .

Oh... I do like their CPU coolers.

Personally I also don't mind the classic especially since my PC doesn't have a window lol

I think mine looks ok on the inside. Don't really mind the Noctua colors. I'm just glad computer cases don't come in beige anymore.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Question for PC guys here, what do the letters after the numbers mean on a motherboard? Like z390-A or z390-E? Thank you ahead of time.

Those are revisions, or feature releases. It really varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Yeah, sort of like that. You may also see stickers on the mobo that tell you the firmware revision or BIOS it came with, part numbers, FCC IDs, etc.

As said it's usually a revision. The only time it comes into play is when a motherboard is cross compatible with the same Intel socket and different generations which may or may not work without a BIOS update.

Intel makes most of their own chipsets so they often make a revision or minor process change without announcing it.

Recommendations for a 14”-15” 2in1 laptop? Dual core with hyper threading would probably work but I would prefer a quad core.
Budget is 500-600, I would prefer not to go higher but could save up for the proper machine if needed.
I’m looking for a replacement to my MacBook Pro, main use will be browsing while watching Tv but it will see use for Netflix and movies while traveling (Battery life is a consideration), and it will also see light use for touching up photos in Lightroom.
I/O doesn’t really matter, my photos will be on my desktop and I typically don’t have to dump an SD card on a laptop unless it’s a long trip.
For OS I would prefer Windows but am open to chrome (assuming web based Lightroom works on Chrome).

ThinkPad. I have a couple of them. I paid $800 for my 14" ThinkPad Yoga a few years ago. 8GB ram, i5-6200U and 256GB SSD. I'm sure they're better spec'd now. A similar spec non-ThinkPad Lenovo will probably be cheaper (but the keyboard isn't as nice)

I have a Yoga 12" for when I don't need my full power laptop on the road. I managed to snag a recertified one with 3 years of warranty for under $500. It's hard to beat a metal frame 2 in 1.

Otherwise the Microsoft Surface lineup is the class leader but pricey. I'd take a Surface over a Thinkpad but good luck finding any deals in his price range on newer Surfaces lol. Anything Surface before the 4th gen isn't worth it.
