    Evening gentleman,

winter is coming and noticed this past month after installing some raptor LED grille lights that I get some flickering upon start up from the grille LED and running lights - takes ever so slightly longer to turn over as well so was hoping to get some recomendations from you guys as to what battery is a solid upgrade in terms of performance/reliability.

Why not a Costco 24f battery,OTD about a hundred. Or get a new oem 27f battery tray and new Costco 27f battery. About 145.00 with battery tray. Warranty at all stores.

The number of miles means zero. It's the number of discharge cycles the battery has seen plus it's age, environment, and it's maintenance history. Prior to spending the dollars on a new battery, which you may have to either way, why not find a real mechanic with a carbon pile battery tester and have your battery evaluated correctly. Any Interstate battery location should be able to do that.
A battery with 1000 Cranking Amps will not spin your engine any faster than one with 500 CA's. The engine will only draw what it needs to spin over. The rest just sits there.

Why I’m asking for recommendations lol - electrical is the only part of my truck I’m not super familiar with.

Miles were mentioned to give an idea of age. It’s about 3 years old. I’ll do that then, thanks

Read up a few threads on Northstar, looks like a solid battery. Much appreciated.

Does anyone know if 27F truly does fit just hanging over the tray?

i have an Odyssey 34R and that fits in the stock tray. you can buy a second gen tray for under $20 that will accommodate a 27 size if you need it. keep in mind a 34 from either of these will perform far better in every way than a stock unit. i have a bigass stereo and the 34 is more than enough and no extra weight with a 27, a bit cheaper, too. just something to consider.

I seconded that on the odyssey batteries; I got a 35-PC1400T, fits perfectly in the stock tray no problems what so ever. I went with odyssey because a friend recommended them as a good sealed battery as this last summer got pretty hot and my OEM battery spilled over and got the lead acid all over in the engine bay. It wasnt too much of a pain to clean up, but never the less I wont have to worry about that with a sealed battery

I just go to Costco. If it ever fails they just give you a new one.

27f fits no problem. I’ve got an x2power 27f in my truck (rebranded north star)

Looks like the wrong battery for that truck as ours takes 24f or 27f as the terminals are on opposite side of that model. Will it fit, yes, cables are stretched but in the event of a collision may give a problem. For example look at ShellShocks battery,X-power 27F terminal location on the AGM.

34, no issues. Weighs less and cost less than the 24F yet has higher CCA. Cables are plenty lengthy , not stretched.
