The other option is they self adjusting. Pull the ebrake while rolling backwards slowly and it’s suppose to ratchet the mechanism to “self adjust”. Never tried it though

Looks like it wasn't the ball joint itself that failed?

    They’re the original ball joints.

Sucks. Oh well. Easiest way to learn that lesson for sure.

Although I'm still surprised that is how it went. Could they have been loose and bouncing around?

    There’s four?

I’ve had five people tell me that. I know. Just easier to say I broke the ball joint.

I’m in the wrecker right now, don’t know when I’ve got time to fix it.

If there’s one thing that has to be done is have those ball joints and bolts replaced every 100k just like the timing belt.

I just replaced mine last week.

This kit has the bolts, castle nut and pins.

Your luck it wasn’t the whole assembly coming apart

I got Moog 555s from a local advance Auto parts, and it's really a straightforward job. You should get all of those power outage refugees camping on your lawn to help.

Funny thing is I ordered new OEM ball joints six months ago. They’ve been sitting on a shelf.
