    I originally wanted a short box but in Canada the TRD sport didn’t come in short box with auto trans at the time. So, I settled on the longbox. Sure glad I did! This past weekend I fit six guitars, three amps, cables, pedal boards, guitar stand etc, and three people in ol’blue

    All these trucks are so clean. Does anybody know what the reason was that Toyota did not do MT on long bed trucks? Was is a technical problem, maybe not a big enough market? I don't get it I would have loved the long bed.

    I read something about physics of it all and stress on the clutch for the longer drive shaft, but I don't know how true that was. That was spring 2015 when they announced the trim lines being offered for the 2016s.

    Some of these online magazines make shit up as they go along, which is why the GMC twins were the "winner" in 2016 and the Ranger today. It's all BS.

    I'm with you it's hard to find solid credible information out there, especially with those kinds of publishers.

    It would be worth it to me to take a hit on clutch life to have the longer bed but then I'm not the majority buyer. Whatever breaks is just an opportunity to replace it with something better :thumbsup:

    Thank you, they are just oem steps as far as I know, the dealership installed them when I purchased the truck. Yeah they probably do protect the paint a bit, but I don’t do much in the way of off-roading or gravel roads, so I haven’t noticed much wear and tear in that area

    How cold did it get? Me and my girlfriend were there over "Summer" and it was hot at night still. It is a gorgeous area though, seems alien like haha. I want to go back and hike MT Whitney. Sometime next year.

    Honestly it got pretty cold at night....as we were there the first week of October. Skies were clear but a cold front was going through Northern California then so temps were a little cooler than normal. At night it was around 38 degrees. But after we left I noticed temps were going to rise and nights were going to be around 50 degrees so much better. Fall colors were just starting to turn so it’s a beautiful time of year on the Eastern Sierra.
