So, word of warning. With the manual 2020 Tacoma you get a discount but lose:

    - Push button start
    - Toyota Remote Connect (remote start, locate, etc features)
    - Panoramic camera as an option...it's straight up not offered on any 6MT

But you get the best feature of all, a manual transmission.

I'm slightly bitter, but I love my new truck. In a way, I feel like I paid a premium.

Is that the same as the PVM? I see it now, so that's a good warning. Only available in short bed and with the $5315 or $5800 package (for $500 you're going to want those LED headlights).

I also believe there is no Push Button Start on Manual Tacoma's is because the keyed ignition works in conjunction with the Clutch Start Cancel Switch, that allows you to put the truck in gear, turn the key and ride the starter motor out of a jam.

Damn, if I knew there was no push button, I would have probably gone with a manual. I like simplicity.

Same time, I like just driving. I’ve been driving a stick since I was 16 (37 now). I’ll keep my manuals for my sports cars. Daily driven tacoma??? Kinda nice to just chill. My personal opinion, but I can see a manual being a blast for a non-DD

Also prefer the simplicity of a key

There are only 3 models of MT available in Canada. Only in the TRD Lineup. The same selection for both 2G and 3G. You see a tonne of the doublecab Sports shortbeds in MT (In Canada I don’t think think you can get the double cab Shortbed Sport in an auto. It’s SB Sport MT in double cab or Longbed Doublecab in Auto only)

    Canadian MT models:

1-MT Access Cab TRD Off road (Canada only model - no US sales)

2-MT Double Cab / Short Box TRD Sport

    3-MT Double cab TRD Pro

For Tacoma’s yes, my question was about the manual Tundra.

In a truck NO. Sports car YES. Said that, my 1989 Toyota pickup 4x4 22RE was a five speed and was a load of fun to drive. Current Tacoma, I'd only buy (which I did) in automatic. My MK7 Golf R is a stick and it's definitely more fun to toss around that a DSG (automatic) version. Some people may not agree with me, but hey, as long as I agree with me I am happy :)

    This dude sounds like me.
I will never buy an auto sports car. No sissy paddle shifts. I love the auto Taco. No problems. Never hunts through rpms which would drive me nuts. Just put it in D and go through traffic without road rage. Stomp on it and goes.

Yes, if the alternative is that they stop offering a manual transmission.

TRD intake and cat back exhaust. 3rd gen wheels,32” tires,3rd gen struts/springs and shocks. TRD short throw shifter. ‘18 Pro skid plate.
I love my stick shift and the TRD short throw shifter I put in recently makes it even better. But if I were still working and had to commute in Denver Metro traffic twice a day it would be in an automatic.

This is an interesting take on the topic.

The one thing I do know is that I feel pretty dumb for paying more for an auto.

You couldn't get me to trade my 6mt for anything with a automated tranny. Auto means boring. There is a reason why manual starts with Man.
