The $5 is more of a show up guarantee
Just one 1/2”. In case you have a 1/4 on driver side and still had lean or wanted to do 1/2 on driver and 1/4 on passenger for a bit more lift

Gotcha. Thought I read where the spacer for taco lean was 1/4" thick but gave 1/2" lift on the drivers side and I've been thinking about getting a bed extender but want the one that comes straight out of the bed on the tailgate instead of an angle. Had one on my f150 and like that style as it allows more room inside the extender. Thanks for the info and pic.

I'll check that out but I like being able to sit and put things on the tailgate. Still not definitely sure I want one. Decisions decisions. Thanks for the info.

About to pull the trigger on some new springs for the tacoma. Before i do, does anyone have a set of OME 886's and/or a medium duty dakar leaf pack for sale?

What made you pick the 886 over the 887?

The additional weight from the bumper, winch, and full skids, combined with not wanting to risk bottoming out with my spirited driving style. I plan on also adding an additional .25" spacer to put me right at 3" total of lift in the front.

Oh, also looking for a U bolt flip kit! Planning on picking one up from Relentless Fabrication if no one has a kit locally.

I NEED new springs on my rig I really dont know what springs I got since it came with 5100 when I bought it but it's at the top ring soooo I'm assuming it will have stock springs?

I'm willing to bet it's a stock spring. Any lift spring with 5100's on the top setting would have given you a ton of lift.

No wonder... what springs would you recommend for getting that 3" lift? Considering I have an ARB with winch upfront? 886 or 887?
I see chris went with 886 is that a safe route to take?

I think if I were trying to get a full 3 inches or as close to as possible with a winch and bumper, I might even go for the 888's. I don't think the 886 or 887's will get you to 3 inches with that weight. The 888's might even fall short. But some sites say the 888's aren't recommended for 2nd gens. I think it's going to be a challenge to get 3 inches with just using springs.

I would recommend the 887, which should yield the same result in height as the 886 but will be less stiff.

Ive got the OME shocks not the billies. From my research the 886 are extremely popular and while @CowboyTaco and @MAG GRY TACO15 are correct that the 887 will be less stiff, I'm afraid that with my setup and spirited driving style they may potentially bottom out more than i prefer. Luckily, front springs are relatively cheap so if i dont like them, i can try a different set without losing too much cheddar. A .5" spacer should get you to 3" with your setup once you swap springs. You wanna avoid maxing out the clip on the billies as the quality of ride will decrease. Whereas with a small strut spacer, it moves the entire strut down, and shouldn't affect ride quality as the spring preload would remain the same.

If i am wrong about any of this please correct me.

Thanks you guys for all your inputs! I'll be more than likely going with 887 with a 1/2" spacer on the top hat hopefully I'll get rid of a lot of rake and also be getting rid of the stiff ass ride I have right now!

I’m in Smyrna off Spring Rd

886 or 887 should be fine, I wouldn’t do anything more than a lean spacer though. Be careful going a full 3 inches. Your CV boots will rub in day to day driving (replacing boots is a PITA) and your down travel will be very limited, making any offroad driving a lot more jarring. Been there and done that. That’s why I have 885’s on this truck. No boot rub, plenty of down travel. I also don’t have all that extra weight to justify 886/7/8’s
