What generation are most 3rd gen drivers?

I'm 26 so I'm a millennial. After rent and all bills I have about $4500 of disposable income. If you live where I live (New England/North East), a 100k salary isn't very hard to achieve for fresh grads.

 

Lol your application will never even make it passed the automated system, let alone HR and then the hiring manager. I guess it can work for blue collard jobs or trades work but in the white collard corporate world it's statistically impossible.

That's really nice your recruiters work with that pool of applicants. I work in big pharma. We don't do that here.

 

Yea, that's more up my wifes ally. And I get why a college education is needed in some types of work.
IMO IT work is blue collar, people in IT don't like to hear that though, it upsets some of them.

 

I absolutely agree a lot of IT work is blue collard. Hell, I even consider what I do blue collard work. I only consider very high level (PhD/MD) IT work white collard. And yes, you read that right, we have 'IT' folks that hold MD and PhD in clinical/life sciences.

Hey man, just calling how I see it. I know a few who actually retired on time as millionaires with their lack of college debt, stock options, pension plans and matching 401s. When you're working after all of this when you should be on a beach or a golf course or picking up your grandkids for a playdate, that's what's annoying. Just saying, retire if you can, if you cannot, then that's understood but I personally know much more of the 1st group then I do of the 2nd group..
Buy an RV and travel the country while you still can drive, life is short.

 

Again, you are right to decide how they should live their lives, how much they should have in their accounts, what they should do with it, how they should value their time, and most of all, when they should go.

A guy like you with your obvious willingness to make those important, self-serving life decisions for others should be running things. Amazing that they don’t just step out of the way for you with those leadership abilities...

 

At 57 I’m trying to hire new blood so I can step aside soon..
75% of the applicants can’t pass a drug test.. the other 20% don’t even show-up for an interview.
The last 5% treat work like a 4 letter word.

They’re doing them a great disservice here. They should retire and allow the job market to move in the correct direction. Who cares if they have student loans if they can actually get a job to pay for them.

The good thing about the IT trend and the lack of skilled trade workers is it equalizes pay and cost. If you’ve got a quote from a contractor or any skilled repair for that matter you’ve probably seen it’s much more expensive than you might expect. Blue collar and IT are a lot closer in pay than most people think. Blue collar just wears down your body much faster.
