Upgrading 07 head unit?

    I would like to upgrade my head unit to something more modern. lol
    I'm thinking lose the CD player and adding GPS.
    A backup camera would be nice.

    What are my options and how much $ are we talking?

    Depends on if you want dedicated NAV (satellite-connected gps) or just something like google maps or Waze run through tour phone.

    If you want dedicated nav, you’re forking out some dough. If you just want map software, and are willing to pull data through your phone, you just need a unit with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

    Alpine w650 is good. Pioneer 2550 is good.

    All are in the sub-$400 range when on sale.
    If you don’t have the JBL system and don’t have steering wheel controls to retain, your parts will be super cheap.

    backup cameras will hook up to anything with a screen pretty much. I prefer the ones from tailgatecamera.com that put it in the factory location, but the basic license-plate-mount kind work fine just to see behind you.

    I'm not a tech guy.
    Not sure what my options are?
    Would like to keep it simple?
    Best bang for the buck!

    Going skiing this winter.
    Very poor radio reception in the mountains!

    The mountains don't have good reception but you want to remove a source (CD player) that doesn't need reception? What source is going to replace it?

    If I am going to do that?
    I may as well upgrade everything else!

    Changing CD is too much work. lol

    A CD player adds zero work, it's the exact same job.

    I want to replace CD player w/something more up to date.
    Things have improved since 07. lol

    Adding GPS would be nice.
    I will not be doing the install!
