Always been a fan of the Tegai..... The lower fender is awesome. Too bad that design feature didn't take off. I did a lowered fender DIY style.

No, R6 is hands down a better bike than the 675, OEM ohlins isn't anything special, (OEM yamaha forks are more Ohlins than ohlins on the the Triumph [In 1986, Yamaha Motor Company became co-owner of Öhlins Racing AB but Öhlins continued to operate as an independent company within the Yamaha group.]). You dont see triumph winning any championships and spare parts are a lot more expensive. even if the R6 is more "Roughed on" it has fly-by wire (2006 R6V+) which has a very aggressive closed loop.

The daytona chassi is nervous and ABS on a motorcycle is only an AID to asian female riders imo

ABS on my bike is awesome. I went out in the pouring rain with some guys in a parking lot and we purposely did hard braking with our bikes. With the ABS mine never locked up even with a fist full of lever and outing my foot through it, it always stopped in a reasonable distance and left me in full control. Buddies without ABS were all over the place. Threshold braking when under control is great but having ABS to help you in those oh shit moments where you just snatch it all is even better.

for an advanced rider ABS is trash. I rarely ride in the rain and if i was i wouldn't put my self in any predicament to activate abs either.

Not to jump in here but with about 100k sport bike miles in the Mtns of NC, I'll give my input. Correct on the Dragon, fun to see it but its become tourist and Blount county TN police hang out on weekends.
Parkway is for tourists, is 45mph and patrolled heavily.
Lots of good roads off of the parkway. Anywhere between Morganton NC to Damascus VA has great curvy roads. Great hamburger joint in Damascus Va. Spent just about every summer weekend for 10 yrs riding 321 Morganton, to 221 Boone, to 421 Shady Valley.
Watch out for Tour de France wannabe's on 321, they dont know the difference between getting ready in the pull off area or getting ready in the middle of the road. Hoping I scared some of them shitless as I rounded the curve where they congregate at 100+mph and full lean. Standing in the road with your bike waiting on your buddies to line up behind you is not legal. GTFO the road until you're peddling. Rant over, but man that was fun times.

Sure. And if you ride MotoGP, all the bikes have traction control anyway....

For us year round rain or shine riders, ABS is a godsend. You can't control idiot cagers, black ice, sand patches.....

Uh, Your point? you understand traction control? most modern bikes have traction control & FYI MOTOGP bikes are PROGRAMMED completely... they are programmed to only have a certain amount of TC in specific corners and allowable brake pressure in certain areas of the track.. all those rider aids simply help extremely talented athletes do the fastest possible lap with the latest and greatest technology. Motogp Bikes do not have ABS though.

Yes, Motogp Bikes have GPS monitored location adjustments per location of the track.

Check out british superbike, Look up Scott redding, came from Motogp last year and is dominating BSB (they have 0 electronic aids :) )

    I edited my post.

I don't care if you're Evil Kenevil. Nobody can control everything all the time.

If you don't want ABS, buy a Harley.

i've been racing for 10 years, i am an instructor for a racing org and i've held a top ten plate for 5 years and have had the #2 plate which i earned in 2016 on a 2006 gsxr 1k (no electronics) vs historic #1 plate holders on the latest and greatest? does that buy me any credibility?

yeah, i live in arizona... and there is absolutely no joy in riding in the rain. I do deal with snowbirds and illegals driving like blind idiots though.. which i think is a bit more extreme

That garage sure looks nice behind the bmw :stirthepot:
While i understand the intent behind abs. I dont enjoy it and i turn it off on my 690 as soon as i get on the bike.

Ive raced supermoto in pouring rain on slicks, tires grip way more than people think. ABS is a hindrance in my experience.

Sounds like you are an accomplished road racer. Awesome. So you don't need ABS on a limited access racetrack where everyone else is going the same direction, and everyone else has similar skill, there is no cross traffic, or animals. Sounds like you don't need ABS for that one type of motorcycling you do.

For the rest of us "beginners" we'll rely on the trash ABS to bail us out of unseen dangers that lurk everywhere for motorcyclists.

Any organization that had an instructor that was that opinionated about such a safety item would ditch them in a second.

    Have fun fast guy.
