We're gonna use this distraction to move some wolves and Grizzlies into the area so Parks down "there" can experience wildlife and have their hands tied.

We're dark as far north as Eureka and the text PGE sent out called for Thursday noon to be the earliest.

I don't mind it so much but I do want some fucking coffee.

A fine suggestion from a different thread re: your TRD power outlet:

    Incorrect.

You need coffee grounds which I explicitly told my wife to grind last night and she didn't. No battery operated grinder. Although I didn't check... if it is under 400w draw I'll plug that bitch into the bed.

Action: The electric company cuts power for fear of fires.

Consequence: About 10% of those affected will either break out their questionable wally-world generators or they'll light up the grill because they just want some damned coffee like a normal human being.

Buy a Mueller hand grinder, then you can take it with when out. I use mine at home and can take it camping.

Nothing in Alameda so far this morning. From some of the Facebook groups people are being very smug that Alameda has its own municipal power. It also seems that those same people forget that it's a municipal entity that buys power from PG&E and resells it to us at cost.

    Oh man...that sucks.
    I have one of these.

    https://www.amazon.com/Manual-Coffe...+powered+coffee+grinder&qid=1570643007&sr=8-7

You can take off the handle and attach an electric drill to it.

I use a Lume (hellolume.com) battery powered grinder. It's a bit pricey, but it packs a lot better than my dewalt drill and zassenhaus box grinder.

It goes along with the rest of my coffee kit that fits inside a Front Runner Cub-Pack.

    This includes:
    • a small wooden cutting board
    • scale
    • stainless folding pourover
    • filters
    • my aeropress
    • jetboil (or similar stove)
    • spoon
    • a couple of stainless insulated cups
    • USB Battery Pack
    • AA-powered milk frother
    • 12 oz bag of Holler Mountain

This is the setup I take with me whenever I go camping or on cabin trips. Though because of recent trips, I might include a carbon filter for whenever I encounter heavily chlorinated water.

Have you tried out the Berkey water filter systems? They're usually 1-3 gallon sizes mostly for use at home, but they do make a travel sized one that filters a quart of water. I've removed the fluoride filters on mine mostly because I thought it was a bit excessive, but I like the system.

The whole point for my kit is to fit inside the case so I can have a good cup-o-joe kit with everything I need to make it work in most conditions.

I just need the smallest activated carbon filter to do the job.

So something like Grayl could work, but the fish tank method also works (leaving a bowl of water sitting out in the open for 12hrs-24hrs). Chloramine will be left behind, but it won't be as strong as Chlorine. If I'm super anal, I could use cation exchange resin. They sell the ion exchange media in resin beads (think Mr Clean spotless car wash) and I could make a custom injection molded bead holder.
