Yeah me neither for a while. Probably just buy a cheapo 80s 2wd anyway when spring rolls around. Had to borrow a friend's truck today to pickup these...

I couldn't do the interior. Not for a trial rig. Sorry.

Also still don't like the looks.

And I very much prefer the 4.0 V6 as I have more experience with that. It's a fantastic motor.

aaannnnnnnddd I couldn't do all the electronics. Which I think if you do a base model it doesn't have a lot of but even so I'd do an early 2nd gen with the least amount of emissions crap on it.

They don't make one for the 80 or I'd be all over it. That's a great design

Nah. I like simple man. And I don't need that much comfort. I just want it to work and go fast. AC, Cruise, Stereo. All I need to have a blast in the hills

Torque is very much needed haha Why I regeared Frank and everyone else does. Having the torque is amazing. Big downer. SC is coming for it though so that'll be interesting.

Just not for me. Not my style.

You better start practicing you fab skillz now and get a MIG for an SAS.

Second gen with a GFC! I’ve put 35k miles on the truck and over 8k on the GFC. I wouldn’t change it for the world! No Skottle tho, so I guess I’m still not cool @Blackdawg

OMG. You went from getting smarter and slowing down just a few weeks ago to 37s?

Man, I am surely a cheap dude. I look at that and think, "paid less for a brand new first gen." Then I realize how old I am and how long ago that was.

I bought my TRD Sport back in 2010 for something around $30k and the only upgrade I didn't get was the JBL audio. I look at the new ones now and wonder what is so great that they are asking upwards of $45k. That's like a 50% increase in 10 years.

Edit: yeah yeah....driver safety, adaptive cruise, etc. etc. Don't care. At the end of the day, its a mid-sized (small) truck.

Engineering costs (new engine / electronics), more safety features (expensive testing/approval by NHSTA/DOT), and more. There's actually a lot more behind the scenes like tariffs, chicken tax, et al. It's not an easy answer.

Surprised me too, it hasn't dropped in value since I bought it. KBB for the truck alone, in good condition is 25-28k.

Must be tough being the smartest guy in the room all the time.
