Join the crowd. I still have no info.

    It’s still really early.

By December the lots will be flooded with 2020’s.

Also waiting for info. Put my deposit down two weeks ago. Contacted the dealer this past Saturday and he said its built and should be delivered in the next few weeks but didn't have an exact ETA. I'm assuming I was just told what I wanted to hear. It's frustrating..

I was going to get a 2020 right away, but since lead times are 2+ months on custom orders and I didn't want to get it during the winter (tons of salt in MN and I want to undercoat it with something before it sees that), so I decided to wait until spring. It's been pretty liberating to not have to worry about it and know they'll be much easier to get and likely cheaper. I know not everyone is in the situation where you can wait, but if you have a reliable vehicle already, it might be worth keeping your stress levels down to just hold off a bit.

Sorry to ask a beaten to death question, and I know there are a ton of threads on it: but can someone give me the TLDR on the easiest way to get Apple play going in the 19s and earlier? What was the ultimate answer to whether a module/head unit from 20+ will be backwards compatible? Is there a clean aftermarket solution?

Craved a 20 for so long but some of the remaining cav blue 19’s are calling my name.

check the Amazon links at the bottom of the page. There’s a head unit there that can work.

You're completely right, however when a trade-in is in the mix a dealer will want to renegotiate when he has to sell a 2017 in 2020 vs 2019 with an extra 4000 miles on it to boot. I'm a reasonable guy and I cant expect the deal to hold that far out. I'm expecting some confrontation when the deal falls through over a larger trade difference. Right now it's a 7k difference for a 2017 SR5 trade to a 2020 TRD OR with similar plain Jane add-ons. LOL but I digress at least I have the ability to whine about a pretty trivial event in the grand scheme of it all.:annoyed::annoyed::oldglory::oldglory::oldglory:

Is this really becoming a pervasive issue? I put a deposit down beginning of September, but it wasn't until a week or so ago the dealer told me build date 10/3 - scheduled delivery end of October.

I guess it depends on what you are putting a deposit down on and how motivated your salesperson/dealer is.

For those that have a 2020, did they fix the steering wheel media controls? Meaning, is the the volume up/down now the up and down arrows (and media is now left and right for rewind/next)? I almost never use those controls (and upgraded my heavily used volume knobs) because I could never get used to it...

I ordered my AG Pro A/T on 9/12 and was told a delivery date of 3 to 5 months. A couple of days later, I found this web page https://fleet.toyota.com/ftc/public/fleet/tacoma.htm
They way I'm reading it, since my order missed the 9/10 deadline, then it won't go into the system until 10/10 with a final delivery window of 2/1 thru 2/29. So, it your order went in on 9/5 and its not in the pipeline, don't expect to see it until January.

Good find. I went back and looked at my messages and they ordered mine on 9/10 (just made the cut it looks like) and are telling me it will be here this month. Hopefully this week or next is what they are saying.

funny, the layout always made sense to me as it matched how the radio adjusted.

Yeah it was a bit weird but only took me a couple days to get used to it. It helped to think what it was actually doing when using it. The station presets are arranged vertically, so it makes sense that those buttons on the wheel would make it go up and down. And the volume knob you turn left and right, so kind of make sense that the left/right on the wheel adjusts that. At least that's how I thought of it and it became second nature in no time.

I can see initially having trouble, but if you can't figure it out enough to use it after an extended period with the vehicle, don't know what to say...

Is the gauge cluster the same or did they update that too?

Totally agree about the logic and even getting used to it over time. Unfortunately for me, it's a bit harder to get used to since I drive my wife's Mazda every week. Not only that, I believe every rental I have had to drive has had the volume up and down in some way (but the media controls would vary). Heck, if I remember right, other Toyota's have the volume as up and down on the steering wheel. lol Oh well. Like I said, easy fix was to use the knobs (in my case). It's not like my right hand is doing as much now that I'm driving an automatic... :p

Great. However those are fleet time frames. I'm not 100% sure lead times are the same. Thanks for the link!
