No power in Lake County. Like half of Santa Rosa is out.

 

I’m on the west side of town off hwy 12 and still have power thankfully. I must be on the edge of the outage.

 

I'm scheduled to go out at noon. Loaded up the fridge and put it in the 4Runner this morning so all our groceries don't go bad.

 

Yeah seemed like the Southern part of Santa Rosa had power, Northern, not so much.

 

Anyone know of, or heard of, AleSmith Brewery in San Diego? I need a place to have a gathering of family in SD, near Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar. There are nearly a dozen small craft breweries out there.

I've never been there, but I've had a lot of their beers. Good stuff!

 

It is a helluva target rich environment right there. Was just down at the start of summer, and we hit Societe, which was very good. Kearny Mesa.

 

Pretty much all of Humboldt County is dark.

 

Anyone selling a 3rd gen tailgate reinforcement? thought I would ask here before I shell out the for a new one. Let me know if you have one you're wanting to sell or you know someone that is selling. Thanks!!!

Blew my lower ball joint bolts while I was doing groceries in downtown SF. Tow back to Hayward cost me about $400.

 

Original LBJs? And bolts? Were they the flange bolts or the one with washers? How many miles?

From the failures I've seen on 4Runner forums, it looks like you got out pretty okay (minus the tow bill).

I know LBJs are a big problem on 3rd gen 4Runners but I didn't think so much so on 1st gen Tacomas (different P/Ns).

I replace my LBJs every 100k miles and have done them on a few other 4Runners if you need a hand with them.

 

They have about 115k on them. However, I removed them in December 2016 (~30k miles ago) to swap them to my new steering knuckles for my 4WD conversion. They’re the factory flange bolts.

It was pointed out to me the bolts failed because I used Loctite. Loctite on bolts causes inaccurate torque readings apparently. The new factory bolts come with preapplied thread locker that won’t affect you.

 

No power out down here in Sonora yet. Noon is the latest projection.

Our latest forecast is for winds of up to 23 mph. It's going to be nuts.

I never use loctite - some people do, some people don't. Did you use the same bolts as before or did you buy new bolts when you did the swap?

 

Same bolts. Same ball joints.
