Thanks, the rifle has seen a lot of deer. It's the long barrel version btw.

Shot my first buck with it, believe I was 12.

Nice looking rifle! You will like that BA barrel. I have a 16" from them and it is a tack driver out to 500yds. I have no problem hitting the 6" diamond over and over again at 500yds.

I haven't shot it yet, going this weekend to zero it at 100 yards. Hoping to reach out to 700 yards pretty soon. I just started working for an online gun parts retailer and all my new co-workers really recommended BA so thats what I went with.

I was debating between the SSAE or a TriggerTech. I absolutely love my SD-3G trigger in my pistol and absolutely love it so I decided to stick with that Geissele love

I reload my ammo so normally I use Berry's bullets for my AR-pistols just because they're cheap but I was thinking of trying the Sierra 77gr MatchKing. yay or nay?

You should be getting some extra velocity out of that barrel, it ought to be just fine at 700 depending on ammo. Very cool! I don't think I've seen any bad reviews of BA barrels yet. I'll be running them on anything else I get around to building eventually.

Gotta finish buttoning up my AK first though! Took it out to 500 yds a few days ago and was surprised. Was hitting relatively small targets w/ those terrible irons repeatably and when I missed it was not far off! Entirely user error I'm sure, shooting with no rear support off a block on a table :D

Didn't know there was such a thread here!

Not too many pics on this phone, but I've posted tons of other long range toys throughout the forum.

My short range rifles are all knights armament, slightly longer range being my mk12 mod clones, mid range are custom .308s and 6.5 bolt guns and long range being my dta srs.

Well thats pretty damn impressive. I don't think I could hit 100 yards with just iron sights let alone 500.

Nah you totally could, it really isn't that hard. We're just all spoiled with nice glass and gadgets. I sure wouldn't be making the same hits shooting unsupported. Try it sometime!

Gotcha. I guess one question I have is it worth to buy a precision stock like the Luth-AR or the Magpul PRS?

Wanted to add to this, I by no means got a first round hit, probably took me 5 or 6 shots just to get a hit. Once I had the dope figured out it got a whole lot more repeatable.

ad my nephew out with an STG58 FAL build and using mil surplus ammo we were hitting steel torso targets out to 400 pretty easily. You're not going to be doing little groups without optics, but putting a bullet on a torso is entirely doable
Nice looking setup. Should be a ton of fun to shoot.

But not to sound like a broken record, you're going to struggle with a good eye/scope alignment without a riser on that stock. Out in the 700 yard range, you can't afford a head wondering around the scope hunting for your eye to be centered.

:notsure: I'm the wrong person to ask about those. Here are my current set ups, the only thing that has changed is I traded the stocks around since taking the pics so the black one has a tan stock and the minimalist stock is on the tan rifle.

Which stock do you recommend. I get a pretty good discount on the Luth-AR. I also see they have a fixed or adjustable. Is there a difference in performance?

I've only shot a few and didn't see anything material differentiating them.
