    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Don't go spring under unless you're into the go fast/prerunner/jumping stuff.

Sounds like you are doing your swap a lot like I did mine. Took me about 2 years to collect and refurbish all the parts.

Not going fast but not going slow.

I'll stick to spring over then.

And yeah I just made my truck a daily, so I figured I'd freshen up any and everything that'll get swapped in for longevity/reliability.

All this in 1 year time frame lol

You're not terribly far away from me. Let me know when you get ready to make the swap, and I'll definately see if I can make it over to help you do the work.

I think it depends on where you live and how hot it gets. I used my parents pool in Bakersfield all the time. Some days it felt like warm bath water it was so hot.

We gotta see if we can draft @FirstTimeFirstGen too. Lots of people helped me on swap day but David was a HUGE source of knowledge. No telling what I would have fucked up without him helping.

Actually, I've field welded 2 LBJs to the spindle. I've possibly got the record for sheared LBJ bolts at 6. Lol

I'm currently running one of my welded spindles on my passenger side and a regular spindle with grade 10.9 bolts and red loctite on my driver's side. It's a test to see what one fails first.

As far as dry torque vs wet torque values go, they are real and can be as high as 50% depending on the lubricant used. For loctite I use a lot and decrease torque by 30%.

The rear 2 bolts backing out is the issue. As soon as one goes it allows enough movement to shear the others. I check mine every 2 miles on trail now. Except those welded ones. Nothing to check there. lol

Haven't driven it yet but topping it off while the batteries were disconnected at lunch seemed to have done something

What about deleting the entire DEF system?

Plenty of trucks come through our shop (registered in Oregon, etc) with no DEF or EGR in place.

My buddy offered to let me register it at his house if I want to delete it. I don't really want to put another grand into a truck I just bought, though. I would need a new exhaust and a tuner at the minimum. Guess we'll see what happens if I keep having issues.

Also if you guys are going to tackle your noisy leaf spring bushings I might try and do the same if that's cool, my front main eye bushing on the pass side has been noisy AF for a long time. Just been living with it, but I have a new set of poly bushings I can put in, and I'll use the right grease this time.

Been putting Daystar grease in it lately but I put so much moly grease in it over the last year that I don't know if it's doing any good.
