When the developer says that something isn't right (after checking his logs), then it sounds like an error to me...

It was a server error, not a tune error. That's how I took it.

All I’m gonna say while I patiently wait for PCM 2.0 files is the dump tubes are easier to install than the URD y pipe haha

An upload error is easy to fix. He would have likely had the link back up by now if it was that. But since the link is not up yet (despite saying he'd correct it asap), I strongly recommend that you (or any of us dongle users) to not use the 19800 PCM file if you managed to get it...especially since it is obviously giving you troubles.

I remember responding to this ticket, same as what I posted on here about the clear DTC / and such.

Also why are people now thinking ECUs are going to brick? We have brick protection.

Yep no need to use those, I have to make more with the catted /uncat / 4.88 / etc

Having done both I would say they are comparable in difficulty if you have a hoist and all the right tools... I did both and neither took more than 1.5 hrs.

So glad I am a P5F user. No worries about my dongle or pcm failing. Just download, flash and drive. So easy even a Cave Man can do it!

For what it's worth, the last time I flashed the latest update, last week, I was not able to identify successfully. After multiple tries, rechecking and making sure I was trying to do everything right, I just said "screw it, I'm just gonna try to flash it". Well, everything worked out fine and I was able to identify the ECU afterwards. Not sure what happened there, but it all worked out.

I'm liking 19800 so far. Truck actually chirped the tire(s) when pulling out into traffic and accelerating! I was already going about 10 mph, it downshifted once, chirped, and took off. I didn't even have it mashed to the floor. Probably wouldn't have happened with a limited slip, but still, pretty impressive for a dog. I'll be taking the boat out this weekend so I'm looking forward to evaluating that trip. I already know it will be easier hooking up the trailer and shoehorning it back in the garage than it was with the wild tip in of the previous versions.

Until your laptop shits the bed and you have to get a new one.

I just plug my dongle into the new one and truck on.

Merits for both; neither is better.

@OVTune there must be something broken on ZD as I never received an email response to my open case 10472. I checked my spam folder as well and nothing. Can you please confirm ZD is sending your responses out? Open ZD 10539 on this email response issue.

bought a new laptop - let Mat know new ID - took about one day for the entire change. Still easy. Yes both have up and down side - would say the p5f has to be easier for Mat to control and manage. Btw - I had a dongle and went to non-dongle because I thought it would be easier in the long run.

Nope. None of that. You just have to worry about your notebook crashing, falling off the table, or being stolen. :spy:

Today that might be quick and easy. But next year (or whenever) Mat moves on to a new challenge and puts the Tacoma on the back burner, maybe not so much.

a comment like this is unnecessary and pure speculation. Lets keep the fake news out of this thread.

Lol! Them dongle guys like their dongles. I get it. :D

I’m old enough to not mind being dongle-less... but I treat my tuning laptop with great care.

    Each have their +\-

I remember not long ago, PCM files were first to get released. Ahhh, what it was like to be on 04B04 with a dongle.

Sure, it's speculation. But I've got tons of expensive hardware (and software) that's been rendered useless because the vendor decided it's "lifetime" was over. Hopefully this never happens here, but it's one of the reasons I feel more comfortable with the dongle.
