Dash Point area is still decent in places. But Felony Way is adjacent to Poverty Bay

Sounds exactly like Austin,TX. I mean exactly. We moved out of the city to escape sky rocketing property taxes, get far more property for less and be right next to the Colorado river. They continue to Skyrocket and housing costs are through the roof even for tear downs b/c you’re paying for location. A homeless ordinance was just passed not long ago which allows camps not be moved or dispersed if they’re on public city property so just about every single overpass and elevated highway now has camps under it.:annoyed:

Yep, at least it looks like you can get something decent for under 700k in Austin. Here's a tear-down house on a sub 10k sq/ft lot for 1.3 mill in a very desirable neighborhood in Bellevue https://www.redfin.com/WA/Bellevue/1633-105th-Ave-SE-98004/home/509859. The thing is, it's not like Manhatten where it's been expensive forever. Last 10 years we've seen a huge boom in tech here and mainland Chinese folks buying houses and land left and right. I'm sure it's in TX too but we have tons of Chinese kids going to the local community college here driving new porsches and.

I used to work just north of there on 8th & Bellevue. Crazy amount of money in that area, and yep a lot scooped up by offshore investors.

Yep. My friend's next door neighbor sold their house and the new Chinese owners immediately bulldozed the house and built a mcmansion there. It sits there empty, they're not even renting it out. Just a way to hide their money overseas from their government.

There was a big pod chasing salmon around there recently, would be awesome if you saw a glimpse. Lived here almost my entire life and have yet to see one.

Seconded. Next Door gastropub in Port Angeles is a great place for a dungeness grilled cheese or mac n cheese.

My wife and I got married at the Outlook Inn (shown in background in top pic). When the tide goes out, you can walk out to the little island in the bay right there in Eastsound.

Nice that you were able to make it out to the San Juans and Orcas Island, in particular. It's one of my favorite places. It's been nearly 10 years since Mrs. Beer:30 and I have been there. Feeling like I need to plan a trip soon.
