You want me to whip up a throttle map with a little more 'spice'?

I sure wouldn't mind if you did! If you can take a look at my datalog just to make sure my general AFR under WOT is still on the up and up that would be amazing as well! :)

Just get me a short 30 second log of a WOT pull through a gear or two. I'll spice it up some and check everything out!

EDIT: Use this channel config file for your log. Let me know if you need a hand getting it setup.

@12TRDTacoma let us know how this spicy map goes. I’m gonna need all the spice I can get once the truck is back together and on big boy tires.

Sweet! I'll be getting back to you a little later today, as I don't have my laptop on hand and it is at home. :)

I'll let you know! I'm excited to see how this new map will spice up the initial throttle input at a stop.

As noted previously.... TRD Cal boiz have throttle plate limits based on rpm.... you dont get full WOT in the beef of the midrange unless you change those settings.

Hey guys I'm finally getting everything set up. I just want to clarify if we're still required to run the beta software or not.

I think it would be great if we can get the first post updated with a few basics for getting started and how to's for running logs and whatnot. Or maybe even start a new thread that can be pinned as a sticky.

Run the latest beta for sure. HPTuners has changed how things get written to the ECU to make things much faster

I've only driven my truck one day with the tune but I can already tell a difference in driveability. Throttle response is great, I don't have to push the pedal near as much to get going. In fact I may have done a little uncommanded burn out this morning. My truck also doesn't down shift and rev to the moon on our low rolling hills anymore. I'm sure with more time I will enjoy it even more. I filled the tank today and will track fuel consumption. Just knowing I won't be stranded on the side of the road by my SAIS in the future is well worth the cost of the HP Tuner, everything else is an added bonus.

Just got back from a little light tune testing. Love it. Thanks again to @JustDSM for the patience and the tune today. Had a bunch of issues with my laptop being not updated as well as the HPtuners cable was having some issues connecting. Pulled out my Phone cable and it connected just fine. Can't do any crazy pulls to see how much harder it pulls as I have a brand new Dana 60 in the back and brand new gears in the front diff that still need to get broken in, but just some light pulls driving around had me grinning!

Oh I get that too. I still have my big brake kit to install that’s been just sitting there.....The feeling though, after the install of the parts and to feel and see the added benefit they provide right off the bat is priceless.

Wanted to give a shout out and big thanks to JustDSM for driving an hour twice to tune my ‘06 Taco! What a difference, much better throttle response and definitely more useable midrange power, and the transmission shifts like a normal truck now! And I can climb a hill on the interstate without it downshifting into 3rd, much more civil! I’m very happy with it so far, thanks again Justin!

I have a pedal commander and URD MAF sensor calibrator. Only performance mods are TRD cold-air intake and TRD exhaust. If I were to use HPtuner, should i remove the pedal commander and MAF calibrator?

I would strongly recommend doing so. The HPTuner software can do what those devices do within the actual ECU code versus manipulating inputs to achieve a desired outcome.
