I think a good compromise would be to pay an electric utility to build out an off-grid setup. They can pay for the full install, then charge me a monthly, fee for the build of the system. Then I don't have to deal w/ these assholes that turn off the power and live in the mountains with my TV, which I'd never use because I collect lanterns, too. lol. though more center drafts than pressure lanterns.

isn't the humidity in Lynchburg like that of a moist asshole?

And I’ll bet that when a high voltage line goes down there, it grounds out resulting in a power outage.

Lines that are on the ground aren’t always live. Some times the fuses trip or a transformer blows. Hell most people think telephone and cable lines are power lines. Or that the bare wire is a ground and not the actual live wire. People are clueless. Hence them blaming the power company for all these fires.

Didn’t read the article yet about the worker getting shot. When the workers start saying it’s unsafe and refuse to go out and restore power it’s going to turn into total chaos.

Yeah, I don't think these green peeps understand how SOFC work. These solid oxide fuel cells require electricity to heat them up to the reaction temp around 900C and require a lot of insulation and line power to start up. Businesses that use these have them auto-shutdown whenever there's a power outage because they're line dependent. Individually they're very inefficient. But when they're banked into a large unit with 1,000 units together, then they make sense. So these are great for apartment complexes, malls, factories, tall skyscrapers, bitcoin miners.

Not so much for a tiny home or standard american suburb.

Just wait until the power comes back on. Facebook will be overloaded causing the internet to crash.

You saw the same conversation about the different ways to make off grid coffee that I did, right? A caffeine shortage will only make them angrier.

Oh well. There’s too many people there the way it is. Let the strong survive.
