After reading and reading between the lines about the high (DI) and low (port) pressure fuel injectors AND the VVTI and VVTIw I am super impressed and in awe of the tune from OVT. At first you would have had to saw my arm off for $700. Now, easy money!!!

What the hell do you mean IMPOSSIBLE? MAYBE? lol

Git in that '18 Pro M/T, load up 87 FOB and try what @tonered said!

35-40 mph in 6th @ ~ 1200 on back roads/small towns.... no problem maintaining speed and a quick flick to 3rd if you need power.

FOB is absolutely killer for that... with our non-retarded gearing, that is!

Oh and rip the fucking accumulator out of that thing... you'll thank us.

That's the benefit of MT. We can cruise around at that RPM all day if we wanted to be frugal on gas. I stay above 2k RPM. Every now and then though, I'll get stuck behind a Sunday driver going below 40MPH. Shifting to 6th and feathering the throttle will keep me from riding their ass.

    ^ yep

1000-2500 is actually useful with the gearing in the MT

Indeed read that PDF. Maybe you knew, but I didn't know each cylinder has two fuel injectors - one direct (in the combustion chamber) the other port (in the intake manifold) in combination with the variable valve timing (Toyota says two types, unknown exactly what they mean) and ALL the other variables, ignition timing, fuel metering, temp, rpm, speed, gear, etc....interesting programing to say the least.

Hello to all well back at the trying to install my tune. I keep getting the message “gaurdant dongle not found. Make sure gaurdant connected to computer and latest driver installed.” Well I tried to install and still stuck! This is why I really wish I got a handheld device! Had this since July and new laptop and just a paper weight for now. I am not tech savvy one bit so maybe this is why the frustration is so high! Any help will be appreciated...

Are you using the correct software? You do NOT use pcmflahs unless you specifically have an old version dongle. you use P5Flash

Print Steps 1-3. Watch the video very closely. Read the steps write notes on them. Watch the video again and write notes on them. You will learn a lot and be ready.

Yeah you just need to pay very close attention. Especially the last steps (Step 3 operations), that's the one you really need notes on. Don't forget to install the drivers. I had so many distractions that were not helpful. It's a bit of a pain for me to just be step by step, but you HAVE to.

Techstream is the Toyota factory software program for vehicle diagnostics. One of the members here had a link in his signature line to the download page at one time. I can't remember who or if he still has the link posted.

ETA it is Tonered and he has the link in his signature look up about 9 posts ;)

ETA 2 if it is the same link that I used a couple weeks ago, when you get to the license key it has a scary popup screen, don't sweat it it is safe ;)

Ok, UPS finally picked it up and its supposed to be here by Friday. I too stopped procrastinating and installed the Flash Manager and sent in my system ID for the license file today. What is the expected turn around time to receive the license file? I hope I have it soon!
