Gunslinger and gunfighter are words used historically to refer to men in the American Old West who had gained a reputation of being dangerous with a gun and had participated in gunfights and shootouts.

    Yep he's John Wesley Hardin

No I know. I think he meant to say “warfighter,” which is an actual term used for a soldier.

    So I’ve heard.

God I hope not. I feel bad for all the tankers (19k) that have that dude representing them.

but is it still possible to get into a gun fight? If it is and it’s something you occupationally train for and do, is it not informally being a gun fighter? Just saying...

No. You don’t train for gun fights, you train for offensive and defensive maneuvers. Gun fights imply a lack of tactics and proper response of direct fires.

    just saying...

don’t make us military guys look bad by using improper terminology.

I hope it’s at least the full time occupation... but if also a fire arms instructor, I suspect it’s a once a month gig.

No offense to our weekend warriors but there is a rather large disparity in skill sets. I would never compare my wrenching skills to a full time mechanic. If that’s offensive then I apologize, but that’s just the reality of daily experience.

Anyone have a Savage MKII FV-SR in 22lr? I'm deciding between it and a Ruger bolt action.

    I have a savage fv-sr in .22lr. Not sure if it’s a mk-ii, but it’s a great shooter. Highly recommend

Thanks! I just wish the magazine fit flush like the Ruger's do.
