Seafoam issue?

Probably did knock something loose. I had some good luck with the Lucas fuel injector cleaner. Straight in the tank and no issues. I use Seafoam to stabilize my gas or Heet in the winter time on things that don't get ran much. Seafoam is good for seals and keeping moisture out in my experience.

 

Sorry if I offended you. I had your best interests in mind knowing the state you left the fuel tank in when you replaced the sock on the fuel pump. I didnt want you to float that dirt into your fuel system or clog the new sock by using Seafoam. Good luck now that the damage is done. I hope you find an easy inexpensive fix.

If you had my best interest in mind I think you’d offer more than a reply with the gist of “yeah you screwed up, that was dumb, good luck.” Thanks for the attempt at an apology? I really don’t understand why you feel the need to belittle people here.

In any case, if anyone else is interested, after replacing the fuel filter the truck runs great.

Was replacing the filter as much of a hassle as I've read? I have a new one for mine but haven't attempted it yet.

 

Not as bad as I thought it would be once I had the wheel off. I took the 17mm rear connection off first and used a 12mm tall socket to get to the bolts holding the bracket on. Then I could move the filter out to get the forward connection off.

 

I’ve used seafoam for 15 years and never had any issues, in the Tacoma, my diesels, 2 and 4 stroke outboards, mowers, chainsaws, never an issue with any of them getting clogged. I use it as directed, a can for about a full tank of gas in the Tacoma.

 

What do you recommend? I’m genuinely interested

I think they said Chemtool B12 or something with PEA like Gamut multi system cleaner.
