Looking for GPS navigation

Starting to add more stuff to the taco. I'm looking to add a tablet into my truck as navigation. What tablet do y'all recommend that wont break the bank? Also if i get a wifi only tablet and download the maps on google maps offline will it still give me voice turn by turn directions?

 

I believe you need a cellular enabled tablet to get the GPS functionality, you do not need to have it on an active line though

 

so a tablet that can work on say tmobile but dont activate it?

 

exactly, any tablet will do as long as it can connect to one of the wireless carriers. From what I remember a wifi only tablet does not have GPS antennas

 

and if i download offline maps that should give me voice turn by turn also?

 

yes google maps will do voice turn by turn as long as you have the map downloaded
