    Did any of you guys have trouble getting the hub for a smoothflow quick change pulley on.....after heating it of course?? The guys here have it heated up to 550ish. They just told me they are having a little trouble sliding it on.

    Are they using the URD install tool?
    Shouldnt be that tough to put on. They also need to make sure they push it on the correct amount. Too far and the hub will hit the seal, not far enough and the pulley wont be aligned.

    Well that's good you have faith in them! Not to try to diminish your faith but 100+ of us no namers have done this sucessfully so it's not our 1st rodeo either.

    I heated my URD pulley and destroyed one getting it only half way installed before I broke the stud on the install tool. Bought a second 2.85 pulley, heated it and cooled the sc shaft. Then installed no prob.
    Finally I got my first qc setup from @Murphinator and it pressed on easier with no heat.

    Heating a pulley or hub benefits the best with a cold engine bay. A bag of ice helps too

    Why I dont let (almost) anyone work on my truck. I dont trust that others attention to detail is equivalent to mine. There are a few in here though that after working directly with them I can say I'd trust them with my baby.

    I didnt even let Toyota install my new door seals (tsb). I got them from Toyota and returned my old ones for their records.

    I had my sc in the fridge to cool it. :D

    It's all about the temp delta between the two materials. Then act fast because that temp delta diminishes quickly when the two parts make contact.
