Banged up my driveshaft. Buy replacement or retube original?

    Looks good. Didn’t see any weights in the pics so I was just curious if they balanced it too?

    The stock one had an external fitting, the one he installed is internal. I like this way better, one less thing to hit on a rock...

    Amazing what a difference location and competition makes.

    I have the tool, but its only use is to crimp the clamp once it clicks into place and locks onto the dimples. My issue was closing the clamp enough in order to get the clamp to click into itself.
    I did grease the splines, but I didn't use that grease. I used the red molly grease I use in the universal joints. What kind of bad performance can I expect not using the Ford grease?

    I was told he balanced it. Running with the wheels off the ground it looked true to me. Took it for a ride and everything feels smooth, especially compared to how it was before having the job done.

    You're fine...
    XG8 is just what a lot of people in the know use on them; even service techs.
    It really only gets mentioned if you have a problem with binding in the slip-spline.
