Cost was not a factor in my decision to get a manual transmission. Been driving MTs for decades, in all sorts of driving conditions. I get a great deal of satisfaction rowing my own.

It will depend on many factors. But really why would I pay premium for something that is cheaper to build? They may only offer manual in premium trim, like TRD Pro and force manual zealots to buy them. But that would not be nice. Just keep offering all TRDs with manual, Toyota. I know you are listening. And you don't even need to develop new trannys, just keep current one, it is decent.

You've heard the wailing souls who bought the auto right? Who wouldn't pay to dodge that mess?

I sure would. The manual transmission is what pushed me into the Tacoma. I would have bought a Raptor hands down if it was offered in a manual. That said, no regrets and now a full Taco Bro.

Would never pay more. Reminds me of my ex-wife willing to pay more for a 4 cylinder than a V8 cause it got better mileage.

I would not. I want an automatic for my daily, it's just easier and more convenient for me. Manuals are fun, but I'd probably only own one in a fun/weekend car. A manual WRX sounds like a fun car, but a manual midsize pickup that weighs over 2 tons doesn't sound as appealing to me.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat if they offered in IN A DAMN AC TRD OFFROAD. It should be the configuration that definitely has it, but instead they only offer it on double cabs. wtf

If you are in Canada, you can get the AC 6MT OR. In the US, it is only available as a Sport AC 6MT.

Well, they do need to re-think the ratio selection in the current RC-62F.

REVERSE? ANYONE? Who put their stamp on that one lol?

Also, gap in ratios between 1-2 with this particular V6 is a touch wide IMO.

When you need to make a quick getaway in reverse, you'll be praising that decision.

I'd pay more for a MT. One big reason I stayed with the Tacoma (Gen2 - Gen3) was the availability of a manual.

Final gear ratio is lower on the 3rd gen compared to the 2nd gen atleast. 1-2 is also spaced a little bit closer on the 3rd gen aswell.

5 <-> 6 leave a lot to be desired too.
