I am a retired thief and i know they have to spot and blend the right bedside and blend onto the tailgate and then clearcoat both. They may get by just spotting the topper. Everything has to be removed before painting and the truck has to be bagged, the dent also has to be repaired and primed. 1000 sounds cheap .

Normally I would agree but Toyota’s touch up paint sucks. Color match is hell. I can show photos of my attempts to discourage any nay sayers lol

I used mine plenty of times and it worked fine...you just have to use it correctly o_O

Even if it's not perfect, it's only a couple scratches that I'm sure no one will see from more than 6' away

Is the toyota white a two stage paint. Try clear coat over it. It should not yellow if its a single stage unless it isn’t shaken up enough. My 2019 white taco paint matches. So far, may not in a month.

$1k doesn't seem that bad to repair everything. Is the truck bed dented or just scratched? If the latter, you could use a touch up pen on that and have the shop repair the top.

I used the clear, I think that is what turned yellow.

You know what would really help @aksel
Toyota should really put a rear camera on these trucks. :fistbump:

I dunno if it's fair or not, but $1000 sounds about right when painting is involved.

ummm... no. sorry. i have a three year old truck that has some decent small to medium scratches in various places, and i got color matched toyota dealership touch up pens in metallic gray, and it looks like hell. It stands out like a sore thumb from well over 30 feet away, and im talking a spec the size of half a dime.

The paint on these trucks is about as thin as they can get it. Toyota.... WTF.

Man they want $1000? I say apply that money towards 5.29 gears and enjoy the ride... you won’t even care about the damage.
