Today it was my first snow storm in the taco. It was 88 degrees yesterday in Colorado, and then today we have a low of 17. Anywhoo, while driving in 4 wheel drive on the highway going an intense 9 mph, there were a couple of moments when I braked the steering wheel would kind of jerk and shutter a bit. This is the first time this happened, and not the time I've driven in 4 wheel drive.

I'm assuming it was ice and the ABS kicking in, but in previous cars I've owned the ABS light would come on when activated, same with the "slip" light.

No light, nothing. Normal operation or something weird going on?

    Odd question I know.

Do the ABS turn off mod. In the winter I always turn it off. Our trucks suck with ABS in the bad weather.

Normal...neither of my tacomas would light the ABS light when the system tripped. However, traction control may light if you have it turned on.

I live in Montana and experienced this as well. Typically this would happen to me at the end of my work day when water froze on my brakes. Big safety concern. No brakes until ice melts.

Correct. That is normal, ABS will save your ass on ice. You cannot ever hope to brake better than the computer....

She is doing what she is supposed to do to save yer ass....
