    Exactly

Can you imagine an electric motor powered Tacobox double or triple differential?

    Holy moses. Torque-o-riffic!

I think we're in an exciting time for hard core 4 wheeling. Hybrids are going to kick some serious ass.

Only a mall crawling douche-sack would want a big, heavy, loud gas guzzling V8 instead of a compact, light, fuel efficient hybrid torque monster.

I hadn't thought of it until now, but the fuel efficiency would be really awesome when you're in the middle of nowhere, not to mention having 2 separate power sources. Run out of gas? Pull out the solar panels!

Yeah but a 70s Corolla was a deathtrap. The driver was the crumple zone, basically.

Most modern wakeboats are heavy as hell not to mention about as aerodynamic as a refrigerator. 8 mpg does not sound bad especially if he was going 70 mph plus.

I would love to have a hybrid assist Tacoma were the electric motor fills in the torque gap on the lower end. It would help the current truck greatly.

Because it doesnt fit the narrative...

Also nevermind our electric grid is nowhere near robust enough for EVERYONE to have an electric vehicle and related charger plus have charging stations throughout modern areas like we have gas stations now.

Ford has put V6 into their GT (literally) supercar and Raptor. And they are awesome. So, yeah, bring small FI engines, Toyota.

Actually information on this is freely available and gets discussed, hence you knowing about it and bringing it up now. No one in this forum has advocated that "EVERYONE" immediately switch. Arguing that a 100% immediate shift to fully electric for everyone isn't feasible doesn't mean hybrids and PHEVs don't have a place. And in fact a large portion of hybrid batteries are nickel-metal-hydride, not lithium ion.

I also live in the Salt Lake area and the air quality issues are real, with a majority of that brown layer over the valley during an inversion coming from vehicle emissions. Plug-in hybrids can actually help. They have much smaller batteries than full electrics (using fewer resources), can be used for long trips, and can recharge on a level 1 outlet in a relatively short time. The electric range on most PHEVs covers the average commute.

Cause and effect, what do you think they do with solar panels? They go to Asia and get thrown in the ocean.

personally I think hybrids are a way better option than fully electric.

It's freaking amazing. It was either an NSX or the LC for me. As badass as the NSX was, the V8 and interior of the Lexus won me over.

More FUD you speak of regarding electric vehicles.
The present grid would have no difficulty supporting an electric car in every home.

    Electric appliances:

    Electric furnace- 60-80 amp breaker.
    Hot tub-50 amp
    Range or oven- 40 amp
    A/C-40 amp
    Dryer-30 amp
Hot water heater-20-amp, plus all of the other electric load in a home.

A 220V EVSE for overnight vehicle charging uses a 40 amp breaker, or higher if you like.

You can charge electric cars at night when the grid typically has extra capacity and people are asleep.
Most of the appliances in a home are not being used, or they’re not continually operating when people are sleeping or hanging out late at night watching TV and browsing TW on their tablets.

For around town use and short commuting, an ordinary 110V 15 amp breaker outlet works fine for charging an electric vehicle at home and at some workplaces using about the same wattage as a small space heater.
