0944 is also my favorite so far. tried most of the others for 2 tanks each and always go back to 0944.

Just got my truck updated with the TSB to 04A61 and just flashed my first tune besides the 1.05. Went with the 19800 91 octane and 4.88 gears. I'm running the 5.29's but figured this must be alot closer to correct than stock 3.91's. Currently passing 10 minutes of time while idling in the driveway.
I understand most donggle users dont want to switch over, but the P5Flash is just so easy(I know dont drop your laptop or else... someday the battery will die and then....). After seeing only a handful of OV users with issues the majority of those are using the donggle and PCMFlash. Not looking to annoy anyone:boink: or start throwing turds around:crapstorm:. Simply stating that a total PC illiterate moron like myself :broccoli:can make this whole system work without a single issue or ZD ticket. I have read almost half of this thread leading up to my purchase and just did like everyone says"disabled all firewalls or virus protections" and followed Mat's step by step as I walked through the procedures. Piece of cake!!
Now Techstream on a 64 bit windows 10 platform.... that was a whole slew of issues that I just couldn't seem to work through:annoyed:...hence the long overdue dealership visit today for the TSB to update my ECU.
Soo pumped to go drive right now!! :burnrubber:Hope everyone is getting the most out of thier @OVTune as Mat really does try hard(way harder than I ever would for a bunch of over expecting, constantly nagging never satisfied people like we encounter here, there are the exceptions of great people really willing to help when they can) to offer a great product and support. Kudos to those who have supported him from the beginning:spending: and saw this product for it's worth on its earliest renditions!!

Well, the link you download the beta file clearly states the files are in beta testing multiple times before you reach the download links at the bottom of the page

Can anyone running any version of 2.0 put the cruise at 40 mph and see if the TC is locked or not?

I’ve ran every version of this tune since 1.01 and never had this issue. I want to see if it’s a problem and need to submit a ticket.

I tried it the other day when you asked and didn’t see it lock. I didn’t give it much of an opportunity though because of the traffic I was in. I rarely use cruise control, so it wasn’t something I had watched before. I believe it was when the first 2.0 came out that I noticed a lot of TC activity which concerned me because I tow frequently and didn’t want the higher temps associated with the increased TC activity. I’m trying to remember now, and IIRC, there is way less TC activity with ECT on. I must have recognized this with one of the 2.0’s that had a functional ECT. For the sake of science, we should try CC with ECT and in D (not S mode). The no-downshift drawback of ECT on this variant of 2.0 shouldn’t be an issue if you maintain a constant speed that doesn’t require a downshift to do so. If I remember tomorrow, I’ll give it a shot.

    thanks man

This probably isn’t a problem for most, not a lot of people cruise at that low of speed. But my commute to work is a 35 mph speed limit for 10 miles with little to no traffic.

It's the URD Y-Pipe doing that, I'm running stock tubes for now because OVTune is out of stock, only have the URD Y-Pipe connected to a Borla exhaust and I experience the same thing. I only hear it under load above 2500 RPMs as well, I thought my motor was pinging but it's not.

I think it's just that the Y-Pipe opens up the restriction vs the stock one and it increases the raspy noise level especially if you have an aftermarket cat-back exhaust like I do which amplifies the pingy/raspy noise. This may be remedied if you install a resonator and I've been told the raspy/pingy noise gets worse with the dump tubes.

Hopefully the OVTune dump tubes are back in stock soon so I can order a set and see for myself, if it does make the noise worse I will definitely go the resonator route because right now the noise is manageable and I barely notice is unless I gun it hard.

I am running catless dump tubes and custom y pipe and had just a Flowmaster 50 series muffler and that raspy noise on acceleration was horrible. My exhaust guy put a resonator in (not sure of which brand) and it helped but was still annoying. After I think someone on here mentioned a resonator called Vibrant Performance Ultra-Quiet Resonators 1142 I picked that up and we put that in also and it was the ticket! Sound is much better and still open flowing.

the gear lock function has never worked while using cruise control on any tune. ECT works normal in D or S mode with CC.

Thanks, I'm going to look into that resonator. Does it still sound the same only w/o the terrible raspy pingy noise and by "we put that in also" do you mean you're running 2 resonators?

Yes, I am running two resonators. I would say the raspy pingy noise is greatly reduced but not gone completely.

He is talking about the torque converter lock up, not OVTune gear lock.

@Tac0Tic0 I was at about 40 mph in 4th gear with ECT on and shifter in the “D” position this morning. I saw the TC lock up. I remembered to check at the end of my drive, so I’m not sure how stable it is. But again, if I recall correctly, there’s a lot less TC activity with ECT on. With this variant, that must be the case wether in D or S. Time will tell what TC characteristics will be when gear lock is activated with S only. I sure hope the TC doesn’t behave the way it does in D without ECT on. That amount of activity is fine (I guess) for normal driving, but like mentioned before, I’d like the TC activity greatly limited while towing to keep temps down. BTW with your commute at 40 MPH and CC set, you must be seeing some great MPG!

I thought ECT with a gear lock tune meant that ECT in D caused the truck to not downshift until stall range?

That’s correct. We are trying to observe a configuration where the TC is locked at about 40 MPH with cruise control.

So, with the way that ECT limits TC activity, one can set their CC at 40 with ECT on and shifter in D. I verified this morning that the TC will lock and (I think) yield better MPG. The fact that it won’t downshift to maintain speed is a non issue as long as the truck doesn’t need to downshift in order to maintain speed (relatively flat).

I mis-interpreted what you were trying to say with the ECT not downshifting

Just normal driving, no ECT, can you try that please?

I was always seeing great MPGs but since it quit locking at that speed, they’re down slightly.

Hey guys, where is "0944" coming from? I thought original 2.0 beta was "10867", released 8/9. I am 04B04 also, if there is another 2.0 that other 04B04s enjoy, would like to try it too! For me the 2.0 "10867", 87 octane, is 99% perfection, hence i have always gone back to it.

    D- Regular drive Mode
Ect- should activate a performance map
Then gear lock by simply shifting into s mode

    that would be ideal
