That wheel is too wide for that tire.

Pricey tire wow. Wonder why the BFG KM2's are more money than the BFG KM3's

Gotcha. I'll reconsider wheel choice since I'm pretty set on the tire size. Thanks

Rick, this size isn’t the greatest for pavement trucks. They are all heavy, stiff tires with aggressive tread. If I were you I would go 265/75r16 in a KO2 in SL. Aggressive looks, smooth ride and good fuel economy.

If you want to go full out, toyo m55/MT, KM2/KM3 or Cooper st maxx are popular choices.

I have 255/75/17's currently STT Pro's and came from heavy Cooper ST Maxx E Rated tires. I wouldn't be in the Skinny Tire thread if I wanted to put a 265/75/16 tire on. Been there and done that many times. I'm in this thread to put either the 255/85/16 Cooper, BF G, or Toyo on 5 Bronze Beadlock Wheels.

Oh and I love the loud noise I get from them, and it's a truck I could care less about Fuel Economy.

And if anybody wants the 255/85/16 Toyo they are $285.00 on DTD but $235.00 on Amazon and they will match saving you $50.00 a tire. Or in my case $250.00

Fair enough, I was just under the impression from your other posts that you don't take your truck off road.

In this case, I recommend the M55 like I have. They sound like an opera singer belting out C# at highway speed.

They surely aren't cheap. I have 16 000 km (10 k miles) on mine and they almost new. I think they will dry rot before the tread wears out.

Skinny but not anorexic like a 255 tire. Just installed a set of Kenda Klever tires in a 33x10.5x17. Basically a true 33" tire in a 265 width. Seems like a good option if you didn't want to go the super slim 255 route or have to deal with a cab mount chop with a 285 tire. A happy medium if you asked me. The front views show what my K02 tires in a 265/70/17 look like compared to these. 2.jpg 5.jpg 6.jpg DSC02565.jpg

I will take a picture later for you. They don't have the aggressive sidewall of many of the mud tires, but they look bad-ass in a different, "heavy duty commercial" kind of way.

They are also amongst the toughest tires in existence. I kid you not, the sidewall is 2" thick. Miners and loggers in the PNW use them on 1 ton diesels heavy hauling and towing on shale rock roads and never get flats.

Are the Wildpeaks the only option for a skinny tire that are 3PMSF? I know the Coopers are M/S, but I don't think they're three peak...

I've got 235/85/16 Falkens on my truck now, and like them, but am thinking about upgrading to proper 255 pizza cutters for my next set. One of the main reasons I have the truck is to get to remote places in the winter, so solid snow/ice performance is necessary.

Tried to search through the thread, but would any of the 16" wheel sizes work on a stock TRD Pro without any additional mods? I see people running these tire sizes on stock Tacomas with no problems... Am I missing something? (235/85/16 or 255/85/16)

Your stock pro rims will work. There are a few tall skinny 17’s.
