Niiiiice, that's a good price for a great bumper man. Those look awesome on first gens. High quality too, the powder coating is usually really good quality too on them

The skeleton on the back bumper is awesome. I may have to do that for when I pick up my 9yr old from school. Thank you for the idea!!

I had a feeling there was supposed to be a washer there. I didn't see it in the schematic part of the FSM I was looking at but I was probably in the wrong section. I will find the part and order it, quick fix for me.

I bought the 12 pack Diffs,Tranny and transfer washers on Amazon. Took a chance but they were correct. Some are alum. crush type some flat alum. 2 larger copper flat type. Easy to figure out which goes where because of size and 24mm vs 10mm allen plugs. When not used it leaks and may rust seat surface which need wire brush n emery cloth first.

OH yeah Forgot to tell ya the transfer case drain and fill plugs are not interchangeable. Although they appear identical dont force the drain plug into the fill hole. Both plugs should thread in easily by hand when in the correct hole.

Be careful trying to get those plugs off...they will strip on you so easily it's not funny, and then they're a bitch to get off especially if stuck. Clean out the inside of the plug so the 10mm hex key fits in there as snug as possible. Dirt and road grime builds up in it and makes it strip when you put muscle into it

Also I agree on getting crush washers...I ran out and reused my old one on there last time I had that plug off and now it weeps gear oil around the plug, even though it's on there tight.

Ouch. That would suck. It's bad enough when you mess it up yourself, but you would expect more from the dealer!

Looks like that's where they chiseled it to get it to spin free, that's how I had to get my stripped plug off last time that happened. But yeah it should have been replaced if thats the case.

Most likely if you just pull apart your old one and clean it, it'll work again. Just did this to my T100

Now that has got to be the best way of doing a swap that I have ever heard of.

Ya... I figured the starter has 305,000 miles on it. And if I'm going to pull the starter, I'm not putting the old one back in.

Was this a kit? Or did you source the items and build it yourself?

1st step complete... only took about an hour or so.

Side note... I'm wondering how many miles are actually on the starter. I bought the truck at 60,000 miles (2nd owner). I've never replaced the starter on this truck... but I'm pretty sure this starter, I just pulled, is not an OE Denso.
