Would be pretty fun! It would probably be a while before I would supermoto it though. Did that to my CRF250L and, while it was cool, not sure if it was worth the money. Plus if I do move it’ll be in a small town with a ton of dirt trails.

The dealership called me back and asked if I was still interested. Told the sales guy it was a no go at $4300 but I would make the trip if they would do $4100 OTD. He gave me a call back and said they wouldn’t let it go for that price but since we are so close in numbers if I made another offer they would probably take it. So tempted at $4200 for a practically brand new 2016 WRR. Would be 2 days worth of driving and $200 in gas to go pick it up is the only thing holding me back.

Throw him an offer of $4300 if they deliver it to you.

The WRR is a good bike. If you can just ride it like it is and resist throwing $3K of farkles on it. Lol It would be hard for me to pass up. Since the bike is the same 2008 through 2020 they hold their value well. A nice 08 brings $3K, even if it has 15K on it. You'll be able to ride this thing for years and still get $3K for it ??? It's like you'll be riding for the cost of gas/brake pads and tires.

Even if I put 5k miles on it I would be able to sell it for $4500. Problem is I would want to put $3k worth of parts on it :annoyed: if I could keep it stock I wouldn’t lose money on it.

Doubt they would go for that. Going to cost them more than $200 probably.

You don't need that. Its just like a bunch of the folks on here. They have a project that just happened to be their daily driver Tacoma, they are just grown up model car builders with a bigger budget.

It's the same with motorcycles, side by sides, guns, the list goes on. Part of it is we want to make it our own, but it goes beyond that. Many folks enjoy the build more than the use.

Just remember, its NEVER an investment NEVER EVER.

As a guy with a lot of vehicles, I'll always pay more for bone stock...even with flaws, than someone else's vision or project.

I decided to pass. Stopped by the local dealership today to chat about it and they said it was a killer deal. They ran the numbers and could get me a 2019 with 0 miles for $6200otd. With it being a 2 day drive to get the other one it just isn’t worth it to me. Going to hold off for now and put some money into my KTM 200exc and sell the XT225 in the spring time and see what’s out there then.

I totally get the wave off on the 2016 WRR if the time is not right, its not right, but buying a 2019 for $2K more is not a good move at all. The bike is EXACTLY the same. As soon as you roll the 2019 off the showroom floor it is a $4500 bike. You could ride the 2016 for 5 years and it will cost you $1,500 tops. You ride the 2019 5 years and its going to cost you $3K+ It would be a different story if the bike had changed and the new model would have more value or offer a better riding experience.

Of course your money, your call, but......

Completely understand buying new is stupid for a WRR. At the end of the day with my 7 month pregnant wife and leaving her for 2 days to go and get a bike would have been a bad move. If the bike was local it would be in my garage right now.
