You opinion I consider as well.

Think I'll hate the 450 on the Milwaukee? Nothing should be harder to remove than my leaf spring bolts which I've undone already with a foot long breaker bar.

Sure; I'll leave the bed and keep the truck

No one seems to believe me for some reason but I don't have any complaints with my Makita 1/4 (impact driver) with converters to socket sizes. I'm fairly sure it's rated middle of the road. I have a dedicated impact wrench but I never have to bring it out anymore. I've used that little 18v Makita to remove crank pully bolts, flywheel bolts, engine mounts, leaf springs, differentials, pinion nuts. It's mostly about the mass you have behind the impacts, if you're using shitty chrome sockets, thinwall sockets, extensions, swivels.... that all kills the mass behind your ass and makes even a beefy impact act shitty. Get whatever you like the most and jives with your price range, cause more than likely you really just need some good impact sockets and common sense to get 90% of tough bolts out. A lot of the time I just use an appropriately long bar to remove super tough stuff since the impact for me is more about convenience in repetitive things or complete disassembly (the reason I tried it on so many engine parts haha)

Same here, the impact is about convenience but now you threw a whole wrench in the loop cause I was set on 1/2". I can get this ordered and shipped here

Their batteries are known to be a scam, computerized failure (not unlike apple phones before the lawsuit) even though they have the lowest output and life capacity already of any brand, they also don't seem to hold up well to jobsite abuse.

@Speedytech7 this will be a "trail carry" kind of set...should I consider the middle and say 3/8" for trail repair IE wheel, spindle, axle replacement etc

1/2 or 3/8 whatever works best for you, what size bolts are you primarily concerned removing, either way with a properly hardened converter you can use either

I used Makita quite a bit when I was younger. One of my first sets I purchased. Been using Dewalt for a long time now, no issues. Battery performance seems to be fine for my use. Not sure about a job site of course.

I wouldn't have an hesitation carrying a 3/8, my advice to you is buy from home depot (i worked there a long time ago)... online if you have to, but pickup in store and then you can get it home and try it and if you hate it they take it back within 30 days. Just say you thought you got the other one and the dude at CS won't give two shits if you have a receipt.

You should see the internal plastic support structure for the armatures and spindles, it's appallingly cheap and flimsy for a brand people often consider premium. That said it is the cheapest of the well known brands, so I guess you get what you pay for

For the military discount, since it's not applicable online, the guy suggested I return it upon pick up and buy it back applying the discount o_O
